Will transplants save me someday? Do i have hope?

Yeah bro definitely. You seem like the perfect candidate. If you ever get to NW6 you'll be able to bounce back to NW1 with decent coverage all over, I believe.

Norwood 6 can get you an ok result but Norwood 7 you are basically completely killed off and dragged to hell by the Norwood reaper.

It's my doom because my dad was norwood 7 by mid 40s.
My father is NW7 as well but from what i heard you don't have to follow his same pattern because your mother's genetics also make a difference

It's not bad hair for a 21 year old. If you can comb it you are doing very well. If it stays combable past age 25, congratulations because you have won.
I have been thinking that transplants can only save the minority. You need to be lucky in one of these ways
-enough grafts to cover a slick NW5, NW6 or NW7 (depending on your terminal pattern) and be satisfied with the relatively thin coverage
-good responder to finasteride with no side effects for life (the hair transplant + finasteride option is a good one but you must use finasteride for life and so can't get side effects 7-10 years down the line)
-Not a good responder to finasteride but satisfied with leaving a large bald area after exhausting all grafts with hair transplant. This is probably older guys.
To check whether hair transplants will save you, you need a qualified person to determine
-which parts of the scalp hair are thinning? How far down on the crown is there thinning and how far down the sides? This is why many practitioners may tell you to wait until age 25 or 30. You need a professional to inspect or at least need a video of combing through the areas. But, as people on here have mentioned, since there isn't any actual hair loss visible, it may be too early to tell this.
-Answering the previous question gives us an idea of where the save donor harvest zone would be. Knowing this, the next thing to know is how dense the hair is in the safe zone i.e. how many grafts can be obtained per square cm. That again needs a professional or a combing video.

I am f*****g 20 years old with NW5 hairline and extreme diffusing, so extreme that people on the streets were openly mocking me and telling me i should kms
What a bunch of subhumans i wish they would get cancer and die for what they did to you. You need to get a transplant as soon as possible bro, NW5 is salvageable and you have hope
Finasteride and Dutasteride makes my hair much shittier even Spironolactone gives me negative results
My problem is the diffuse which limits the way i could style my hair and finasteride makes my hair much worse for some reason. I need something to maintain for a year or two then fly to Turkey for a good transplant

How long were you on finasteride? Finasteride comes with a Shedding phase like minoxidil. I lost a ton of ground after 3 months and I'm praying it comes back. I'm talking Shedding more than even starting treatment and having my thinning temples go from 50% density to bald.
Its very depressing and I'm losing hope too but I have to wait it out a year.
I wish it was shedding alone then i would stick with it, but my scalp itches and my hair looks like dead straws each time i take Finasteride like the life has been stripped off of it

Gotta have faith man. I think you are early in the loss like me and finasteride is your best bet. I'm willing to suffer 1 year of horrible hair if it meant I'll come out clean by Christmas.

If a guy is still losing hair at age 21 on finasteride, can he realistically expect to stabilise it enough for the next 40 years to make a hair transplant viable? What happens in 10 years when he takes a 9 month break from finasteride to try for a baby with his spouse or in 10 years when finasteride stops working or gives sides? Seems like hair transplant+finasteride combo is gambling that the guy will be able to maintain for life. Also with the diffuse thinning, a lot of doctors will refuse to put grafts among existing hair. You would need to potentially pay more for a skilled surgeon who would do that.
I am starting to think that options are very limited for aggressive bald guys.
