Hey guys im new here !

I just wanted to know if i should be worried about one corner of my hairline. The other corner i havent been worried about but this one i have been stressing over for a while. I was wondering if i am thinning on that side or if its just me being worried? I do brush my hair the other way so maybe it thins because of that? But as of right now i am not sure if it is thinning or if it has been like that/ naturally like that. My hair stylist said i dont need to worry about it but it has been a stressor of mine for a while now. I am not on any regimens or anything and not on rogaine or propecia because i am skeptical about the side effects or the shedding aspect of rogaine. It would be greatly appreciated to see what you guys think if i am thinning or if it is just a maturing hairline or whatnot or if i am just being overly worried.

Thank you!

by the way my hairline has always been a widows peak like that so that is what makes it confusing

The hairline is definitely receding so if you don't want to go bald then you should start finasteride/dutasteride at least. I have been on finasteride for 4 years and added dutasteride 0.5mg ed a year ago and have never experienced any sides. I've been using minoxidil on my hairline for 13 months and it has given me puffy eyelids which I really don't like (not saying that would happen to you too though).

Really? dang i guess i better start asking about finasteride... does anyone else think i am thinning?

I didn't even have to enlarge the photo to see that you are receding. I would say you are almost a NW2. Finasteride is your best option since you are a low norwood...I personally would not recommend minoxidil at this stage

Hey, buddy I have a similar situation. I helped minoxidil (Spectral), vitamins for hair loss, laser raschёchka, there are many vellus hair for 3 months, and is now 4 month began appearing terminal hair and began to fill up the corners of healthy hair. I also wonder whether Propecia on the front line? and if you take it whether the effect is even better?

The main reason I recommend low norwoods not to use minoxidil because just like finasteride you have to continue using it to see results and to keep those results.
Don't worry about shedding too much...just monitor your hair line with pictures after 6 months of starting treatments to see if there is signs improvement or maintenance

First there will be shedding, I am also worried, because as much as 3.5 months molted. And then abruptly stopped, and stopped when I started to notice improvement.
Guys and can answer my question, Propecia works on the front line or only minoxidil?

It should work on the hair line but it isn't like it is a guarantee that it it going to work

okay thanks ill probably just start out with the finasteride and see where it goes from there if i need to go to minodoxil becuase i feel like i have minor hair loss and want to wait before using something that possibly my hair could become dependent on

I think there have been studies that the sides from finasteride (for those who have sides which is minority) revert after stoppage. I recollect something like max 4 months to revert. So its not a one way street.
Also, unlike minoxidil I don't think you lose all the gain if you stop. Not sure so maybe someone can confirm.

I feel you man, I am 21 years old myself and hairline started to recede at 19. I recommend you get on finasteride as soon as you can. I have been on finasteride for about 10 months now and it is actually holding my hairline pretty well.

Imagine diffuse thinning that started at 16 years old(me)...you are lucky if receding temples are your biggest worry
And if you stop taking finasteride you are asking to have rapid hair loss...the effects of finasteride will wear off in less than a week and within a year any of your gains from finasteride will be gone

Ive been taking rogaine for about a month and I've been seeing that the hairline is still in tact but the hairs behind it have really thinning out. Its like its killing all the soon to be dead hairs.

Is finasteride effective for a receding hairline? From my personal experience, it is effective only for the crown.

Finasteride can certainly be effective on the hair line but that isn't a guarantee
