Worried about my temples. Paranoia?

Okay, so I've posted a load of pictures of my hair on here... and on about four other forums. At first it was about my crown, and I was told by practically everyone that my crown was fine, and that I shouldn't worry. Okay, well, that's easier said than done when you have OCD... but it was put to the back of my mind, cuz a new obsession took over. Either way, I get that the hair on my crown/top of my hair is fine.

SO! I'm now worried about my hairline. I've posted various pictures on different various forums (the majority of them being hair loss forums), and I've been given a fair few different replies. I also posted the pics on another forum, that's not related to hair loss and had a few replies, but this wasn't the best idea as I was then given MORE mixed replies.

Spex has even replied to me and told me that my hair is fine, but since I've had SO MANY different replies regarding my hairline, I'm a tad lost on what to think.

I've been told I'm a Norwood 1, and I've got no hair loss. I've also been told that I've got a mature hairline. I've also been told that my hairline is in the process of maturing, as well as being told that my hair hasn't changed since I was a kid. Finally, I was told that because my hairline is low, my hairline follows the curvature of my head, which causes my hairline not to be straight. See? Some pretty varied responses.

Therefore, I'm coming here with my big *** photo album. There's a lot of pics in here, so bear with me.

How is my hairline, and do I have anything to worry about. Am I just being paranoid? Taken over the last couple of weeks;

When I was younger (I'm 21 now);

I've considered going to a trichologist, but I've spoken to my parents, who both say that my hair hasn't changed since I was a kid and that's it's just my OCD making me over-worry, and they don't think there's any point going to see one. I've also spoken to my GP who checked my hair and she said the same thing.

So yeah. What do you think?

Thanks :)

ur hair looks fine.

but if anything, i'd say theres signs of u being a diffuse thinner. meaning over the next 20 yrs ur hairline will stay almost the same, but the rest of ur hair will slowly thin over time.

the good news is that diffuse thinners look great shaven, because the hairline stays the same, and they also respond great to treatments.

look at a guy called fred the belgian.

but having said that, u cant let it rule ur life. like the rest of us, u have to accept theres not much u can do about it currently. u can either enjoy ur younger yrs and slowly lose hair, like over 50% of us, or u can waste them thinking about wat if's, and still go bald evetually.

maybe u should get a girlfriend and a hobby, b4 this becomes ur fulltime obsession.

You may be a diffuse thinner. Finasteride will work great for that. I have thick hair but my hairline is messed up. I don't really have any frontal thinning, there just isn't hair. So you have a good situation cause you can buzz it down and still look okay.

...? what signs? :/

i went the doctors a couple of months ago cuz i have an inflamed scalp due to anxiety and asked her to check my hair for thinning, and she said there wasn't any. she said my hair is the same density all over.

in my experience anyone with a red scalp showing throuh like that while the hairline remains intact turns out to be a diffuse thinner.

usually happens to blondes.

its a slow process though. u probably wont have to worry about it till ur 30 or so, or possibily sooner if ur unlucky.

this is an example, note how the top is getting thin, while the hairline is fine, in comparison to normal male pattern baldness where the hairline recedes and a hole develops in the crown, with diffuse thinners it happens slowly and evenly all over.

i could be wrong about u though, but u asked and i gave u my opinion.

then why did u come here asking for our opinion?

u must have doubts, otherwise u would have just believed ur doctor.

u asked, i gave my opinion, now ur saying im wrong, and u believe ur doctor?
again, why did u come here?

i came asking about my temples... the crown area/top was discussed a while back when i came here asking about that. my scalps red cuz i have seborrheic dermatitis. when i went about the SD afterwards i asked my doctor to check my hair for loss or thinning on top and she said that it was fine; it was my ocd making me worry. i came asking about my temples/hairline to see if there is a genuine concern, or whether, i again was worried about my hair again due to my ocd and the fact i over analyse everything.

thanks for your advice anyway though, i wasn't dismissing what you said at all.

I have both OCD and genuine hair loss. It is torture from both angles.

You have a good hairline....you are 21 and too young to worry about something that isn't happening. Go out, get off these forums for good, stay away from the mirror and stop taking pictures. Constantly seeking reassurance simply makes OCD worse as you probably know. It feels like the best thing to do at the time because you feel like you are controlling things but in reality it fuels the desire to be more and more in control.

So forget about it, count yourself lucky that you have good hair and tell yourself that it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world anyway if it did fall out.

Go f*ck some women.

this board is just full of OCD ridden NW1's posting their full heads all over the place.
makes me so sad.

if you're so bothered and worried sick and all the other nonsense, why don't you just take 1mg of finasteride every day and then forget about it? or would you end up one of those OCD loons who reads the sides board then posts a thread on every single side listed saying they have it?

btw if you're on a SSRI some say SSRI's can cause hair loss. (though personally i think that's nonsense)
