Taug, tell me why you think you are ugly? Don't give me examples of what other people have pointed out. I want to know why you feel you are ugly.

1. At school my classmates often teased me about it. It was not even meant as an insult, they just pointed it out.
2. I look disgusting on pictures. When I look into the mirror I am ok with my looks, but when I take a look at my pictures :puke:
3. People on HotorNot confirmed that I am ugly. I think it would take some time to find a guy who is young and not fat with a low rating similiar to mine.
4. My pen friend´s girlfriend confirmed that I am ugly when he showed her my picture.

Result: I must be ugly

@ the very worst ur a bit below average. But so what? People have different looks, and people have different tastes. Not every Brad Pitt ends up with a super model and vice versa. Two friends of mine..ones a pretty attractive d00d, and hes going out with a pretty friggin fat chick. i can bet u my life savings hes not pounding her cuz of her looks, and i've seen the girls he used 2 pull and they were bombshells. Another guy kinna fucked me over, and hes the ugliest looking kid alive and snagged a bombshell from me as well. Guess she picked him cuz of his higher confidence levels and better outlook on life. Maybe you not being a supermodel is a blessing. Think about it. @ least then you won't get attracted to some hot *** bimbo, who has absolutely zero personality. You really wanna come home to some b**ch everyday, who won't cook you food, keep nagging you for more money etc etc? What do u need that sh*t for?

:bravo: I finally got you to admit, when you look at yourself in the mirror you think you are OK which is not ugly. Wow, I think I probably have made more progress than your psychiatrist. I know you are fine with your looks because you seem to have no problem posting them online for everyone to see. A person who is embarrassed with how they look would never post online even if it is total strangers. A few more psychiatry sessions with me and I will have you dating in no time. :punk:

I don't like the way I look on pictures either, it's very different compared to what I see in the mirror. I think it's normal to think like that, I have probably never met a person who really digs how he/she looks in pictures. No one likes to look at themselves on pics.

I dont understand #2. Who gives a f*** what you look like in pictures if you look okay in person?

And that completely debunks #3,4 because those are based on pictures anyway.

It doesn´t matter how I see myself, it is important how other people (women) see me. And they have given their vote. And believe me I hesitated months before I actually decided to post my picture. Helpme007 convinced me to finally do it. It was a big relief but when you have done it once you can do it always again. Plus it is very unlikely that someone I know sees me here.

Well, take a look at #1! And my lack of attention from women strongly hints to my ugliness as well. Furthermore I can´t call myself an unbiased judge of my own looks!

Well I don't get a lot of attention from girls either, although they do approach me from time to time when I'm out. I don't blame anything for my lack of success with women, I know it's mostly because I'm kinda shy and have an odd sense of humour. The women won't come ringing on your doorbell either, you need to go out and believe in yourself a bit.

Fair enough, Taug. Then find yourself an ok to ugly looking girl and have some fun. Since you have convinced yourself that you will never have a good looking woman than at least find something in your "league". But if you want to live a life as a lonely old virgin, that is your choice too. If I lived in the same town as you, I would have you dating hot looking women. Don't you have any friends or family members that can fix you up with some women.

*Seems he failed to read that Part.

1.Do you still look the same now as a when you were a kid?
2.Many goodlooking people dont photograph well for every pic you see of a model in a magazine the photographer probably took 200 similar ones that were not good enough.(then used photoshop)
3.Hotornot is bullshit.
4. Well thtas overwhelming evidence is'nt it.

I know what you mean this guy needs a kick up the arse. :smack:
I sometimes feel like flying to Germany to drag him out into a club. His misery is entirely self inflicted he could easily have a nice looking girlfriend if he grew a pair and actually attempted to get a girl.
Taug I know that you dont ever venture out into clubs but I do and I see guys who are nowhere near as goodlooking as you having a good time and living a normal life.
If you dont want to try thats up to you but if so WILL YOU PLEASE STOP WHINING ABOUT YOUR SITUATION. enough is enough!

None of these really hold any water at all...

1. Kids can and will be cruel. They will pick anything, true or not, to give you sh*t about and to elevate themselves above you and others. Don't think too hard about it - it did hurt at the time - but there's no way you should let it affect the rest of your life. Besides, that would have been at least 8 - 10 years ago yeah?

2. Not many people at all like photos of themselves, myself included. The main reason for that is that you are used to the view in the mirror. A photo of yourself presents a mirror image of the view you would normally see in the mirror. (i.e. if you have a scar on your left cheek, the person in the mirror will have the scar on their right cheek). One of my eyes is higher than the other and my nose is clearly to one side, so naturally when I see a photo of myself, I cringe! Try holding a photo up to the mirror and looking at the mirror image of it. I guarantee it will look better straight away!!

3. HotorNot is bullshit. You're setting yourself up for failure by even going there. Even models and "Cassanovas" regularly get voted ugly.

4. Again, not a valid reason. A judgement made on a person's appearance based on 1 photo is ridiculous. The sad thing is that you believe it. How many different photos have you seen of celebrities and sporting stars in women's magazines that look terrible - I'm sure they'd hate to be judged on those photos. ...and like your pen-friend WOULD tell you if his girlfriend found you attractive anyway.

It's funny, not only do I not think you're ugly... I'm surprised how good looking you are actually - the way you carry on about it, I'd expected a hideous ape-like THING, that not even a mother could love. All you need is some confidence and self esteem.

Keep the buzz cut - I think it looks good. Go out and buy yourself some nice clothes and shoes... and hit the town!! :)

Taug, as virtually everyone in this thread has already said, you are not a bad looking guy at all. Although I don't particularly care for the current way your have your hair (curly poof) and I think it looks better buzzed or just shorter. It's kinda hard to go wrong with a short or buzz cut unless you have a horribly shaped head, which you do not appear to have.

I have suffered from self confidence problems all my life. When I was younger, it was because I was too skinny. Growing up, I was REALLY skinny, ethiopean style and being called 'bones' and other skinny names really effected me. As I got older I put on weight and no longer worry about being skinny, now it's the reverse and I still suffer from low self opinion issues at times, but it's much better than before. You just gotta get over that because it's a waste of your young prime years. I'm 31 years old and I spent all of my twenties trying to change myself, never satisfied with who I was, always wanting a better, more 'proportionate' body. I only recently have snapped out of hating my looks (although I still have my moments) and now all I have are my 30s and 40s to have fun, I fucked and lost my 20s forever. Don't worry so much, get some perspective. There are SOOOO many people in the world who look way way way worse than you. They are disfigured, disabled, obese, fucked up face etc. You're no Johnny Depp, but you are not a bad looking guy. Just be happy with what you have. Do what you can to make improvements to boost your self opinion, but dont let it wreck your youth the way I did. Believe me, it goes by VERY fast.

Taug, what can I say, you and CCS are definitely celebrities on this whole forum. When you both post, you get the most supportive comments of any poster yet ironically, your negative attitude about yourself never changes. Too bad your popularity is amongst a bunch of men losing their hair instead of a bunch of hot women losing their cherry to YOU. :shakehead:

Here's my feelings on image issues dealing with mirrors and such.

Mirrors are a distorted image of reality...when you look at yourself in a mirror, you are looking at yourself backwards. Faces aren't perfectly symmetrical, but people are generally used to the image they see in a mirror. That is what you look like to yourself since you generally don't see yourself as often in other ways. When you see yourself in a photograph, that represents what you look like to other people, but you just aren't used to it. You're the only one who sees it this way, because you've always seen yourself backwards, and only your mind is going to think that something isn't right. Everyone probably thinks they look better in a mirror, because that's what they're used to..but really, we don't look better or worse either way, it's just a difference of perspective.

Nobody can realistically change the way they look, so just make yourself look the best you can with what you have. Hair or no hair, your real image comes from your own self confidence. If you find yourself attractive for any reason and project that, someone else will. I get sick of the stories about guys who claim they can't get dates because they have no hair. Completely false. There are beautiful women out there with all types of men, from all walks of life.

Anyways, do what makes you happy. Long hair, short hair, it really doesn't matter. Just be happy with yourself.

Since this is quite logical, it's amazing how many people don't understand this concept, even after you've explained it a few times to them. Basically the fact you can't read writing on a shirt while looking in the mirror, while you can in a photo, should explain it straight away.

This is something that I've noticed from reading the posts of CCS and Taug, it seems the older they get and the more time they spend missing out on having a good time, women etc the higher and higher they set thier ambitions for the future. Its almost like they feel that they have to not only start living but they also have to make up for everything that they've already missed.
I think in their heads its not enough to be able to get a girl, they want to be so attractive that they can have any girl (and have other guys being jealous). Kind of like revenge for everything they've missed out on.

At 31, I personally feel I have a lot of making up to do for pissing my twenties away. I almost feel as if I went to prison for 10 years and I just got paroled. Guess it takes some people longer to snap out of the depressed and procrastination stages of life. I spent ten years saying "tomorrow" and "next week I'm gonna do this and that to make my life better." Guess it could have been worse and I could have stayed a f***-up until I was 40.

Thank you, I understand it now. Probably I really am as ugly as I look on pictures. It is ok, I will learn to live with it.

Partly true, I once was like that, but by now I have accepted my faith. I have decided that I won´t talk about my looks/ugliness anymore. A few weeks ago I was ok with it, but then all you people made me think about it again. I don´t blame you, you didn´t do it on purpose, but I gotta do what is best for me.

why do americans and europeans look so different? If I saw you on the street I would know you're not from here. And it's not just the clothes.. I can tell.... I just can tell when someone isn't an American, and despite americans being from every country on earth, they look different once they are born here.. am I going crazy?
