Would Like Some Advice On My Hair - Cowlick?

Hi everyone i'm new here.

Just after a little advice. Im a 36 year old man, and for most of my life my hair has been very short, always on the side and no more than half an inch on top. I have always had thin/light hair as far as I can tell.

Anyway over the last few months I have been growing my hair on top for the first time and keeping the sides short. I have had a few cut back on the top and a few weeks ago had quite a bit taken off the top and am growing again.

Anyway I have noticed that at the top of my head and crown it seems fairly thin there, I asked my hairdresser about going bald he said no it's just thin/light around the back of my head. I have also noticed my cowlick become more prominent.

I am just concerned about this and as I have never had my hair long before I haven't really got anything to go by. The last couple of week I switched to a natural shampoo too and new i have an itchy head and I have noticed a few hairs in the bath and on my pillow and when I run my hands through my hair, but like I say I don't know what is normal hair loss because I have never had hair this length. I have included some pictures and would really appreciate some advice, it's kind getting to me and I don't know if I need to accept it's just my hair and normal or something else.

My hair seems to go on so many directions at the back especially around that cowlick. :/

Hair is dry in all pics.

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. Would you agree with my hairdresser then? Just light hair which is easy to see through?

I tried to get another right in the and you can see the shine on the cowlick. Seems like the back part of my hair is a bit thin, but im not sure if it is because it need more length and the fact its trying to push in so many directions?

With regards to loss of hair in bath, on pillow and touching would this be just because I actually have hair of length and am just noticing it more?

Also with regards to the natural shampoo i'm using Hanz De Fuko, which seemed great but I only noticed my hair loss since using that but I have been assured it would be because of that. It has defiantly made my hair feel different though and im not sure I should continue with it?

Thanks again for the response.

You have a perfect front line, but you have a great hair cowl where is easy to see trought.
With a long hair is more easy detect them when fall.
I don't know the ingredients of Hanz De Fuko shampoo, but normaly dont affect to hair growth.

Again, thank you for your reply. I never appreciated how twirly it was until I have had some growth.

I found a picture from about 7-8 years ago (not a great picture) when I had short hair and you can see how it looked then, actually looks thinner, but I don't have a picture from the top, I guess this is just how my hair is and I am noticing it more with length?

FYI this is the Hanz De Fuko links:

Thanks.

I do see some thinning all around the cowlick. Very minor, but I would go to a specialist.

Get on finasteride asap and forget about reading or thinking anything related to hair loss

Well I saw my doctor today and he says it's MBP and I'm losing my hair? :(

My doctor laughed when I suggested finasteride. He said he wouldn't prescribe it and said it makes you impotent. I'm not interested in that at all. He said I could try rogaine but I don't know yet. But certainly no finasteride for me

Try another one. This one is not a specialist on hairloss. At least not a good and well documented one.

Your doctor is an idiot. I am on a drug much more potent then finasteride and have no sides.... let alone impotence. Go schedule an appointment/consultation with a hair transplant doctor and they will just give you a script for finasteride
