Would scalp acne cause permanent follicular damage?

Might be folliculitis, look into the subreddit.

You could try out benzoylperoxide as a treatment.

It helped me a lot with my inflamed, red, itchy scalp and pimples on scalp. I even had bald spots that looked similar to alopecia areata because of large inflamed pimples.

I wont lose this

I get a lot of pimples in the back of my head and sometimes crown, I'm just wondering if the constant appearence of acne could cause scarring to the follicles and essentially kill them.

I tried everythong from anti-dandruf shampoo to only using shampoo once a week. I even apply Clindoxyl to the affected area (even though it says I can cause bleaching). My retarded family doctor said it's "normal" and could be caused by a lot of thing (skin type, hormones, etc.), b**ch didn't even check and quickly dismiss my problem.

Also, I can't get a dermatologist without a referal from a family doctor so that's not even an option. f*** socialized communist healthcare, can't even do my own medical decisions.
I've got the same problem. Sometimes it goes away for a few weeks then returns with everything it can offer (pain, itchiness, redness). Stretching washings didn't help, if anything it made things worse.

Have this as well. For years and same fear of permanent issues. I took oral antibiotics and they did some damage. I’ve seen many high end dermatologists and they don’t have an answer. Clindamycin foam, some betamethasome to ease swelling. Only thing that helps is a Keflex cycle and it kills stomach etc. I get multiple large cysts in an outbreak too, back, and sides. Worried that as I age, thin this removes a short cut or bald look.

Same issue. Please become aware of your food sensitivities. (Plenty of tests you can buy online that will reveal hidden foods that cause these breakouts). Tomato sauce, oregano, red pepper, etc. was some of my hidden ones. Also sugar and flour can result in a firestorm of inflammation and breakouts. I used to have this and was in a constant cycle of breakouts and then medicated shampoo to accelerate healing - but now im able to avoid altogether.
