Would you qualify as a sperm donor?

When red headed people were being recently turned away from sperm banks, there was a newsplash. What about people who are bald, have bad teeth, or less than 5'11?

Just for HPM
What do women want? She tells me heterosexual couples are looking for a close match between donor and husband. But for single women and gay couples, what is their No 1 priority?

“Height,†Jegede says. If it was a choice between good career and height? “Height,†Jegede says. And what if it was a choice between education and height? “Height,†she repeats. “That is one of the first things they say. There are situations where they like all the characteristics, but he’s not quite tall enough for them. I get excited when we get a guy who I think women will like. I think, ‘Oh, I hope he’s got good sperm’.â€

Yeah but the baby boy could always get the balding gene from the mother. I mean come on, it's a gene that often seems to run on the mother's side.

is bad teeth genetic?

cuase my mum has bad teeth, i have OK teeth, brother has good teeth.

but yeah i know the height requirement, that was on the short and male documentary.

women dont want short kids

nor kids who are balding in their 20s

NO ONE WANTS THIS FOR THEIR KIDS.

the really funny thing is for some reason balding guys in their 20s/30s says their not bothered by baldness yet if you prompt them to ask if you would like your son to be balding @ 20/25 whatever they say "oh god no that would be the orst thing to happen to him"

ghg, HPM, true, but there is a good chance the "bad" gene will percolate down from the father.

I was visiting my parents last year. A female relative was commenting on my baldness to her "what happened to his hair" etc. My mom says "bad traits are the first things that are inherited, difficult to get the good traits" (I'm paraphrasing a bit).

I feel all cuddly knowing that I have bad teeth, started balding by 13, and am under 5.11.

Pointless and futile to measure yourself against sperm bank criteria...

The whole purpose of a sperm bank is so that women can hand pick every physical characteristic and produce THE perfect looking child.

There a very, very few men out there who would tick all the boxes they're looking for, good hair is only one of them...

I mean the second article says some clinics won't consider males under 5ft 11, as a 5ft 8 man I find that a joke, but hey, who wouldn't want their kids to be 6ft? The same applies to baldness, skinny build, bad teeth, big nose/forehead etc etc...

Women aren't gonna pay all that money for artificial insemination just to get average looking kids.

It can vary from sibling to sibling. In my family, I took on the "bad" gene from my father, while my older and luckier brother has taken after my mother and is still enjoying life as a NW1 into his 30s. It's pretty sickening to be honest but that's how random genetics can be.

Conclusion: In a couple of hundred years baldness will be extinct and every guy on the planet will be a dark haired NW1 á la Hollywood style.

What I find disheartening is that physical characteristics are being rated higher, and even serving as a basis for disqualification, as compared to other IMHO more important characteristics, like drive, dedication, brains, talent.

very few men?

come on ther are PLENTY of men that have a NW1 in 20s/30s/40s/50s.

as far as height goes yeah 5 11 was the cutoff, thats gogin a little too far but i don't see why not.

but the other points you mentioend, comparing Pre-mature male pattern baldness in the same leauge as a certain build"skinny", havingn bad teeth, a big nose and forehead
is jsut silly unless the guy has a REALLY sociall obvious big nose, or a HUGE forehead, but most guys dont have really odd things about their face liek giant noses and big foreheads or really bad teeth that actually offset there face enough to compare it to male pattern baldness.

in gneral when i walk down the street id say the worst looking guys are the white bald guys, most guys with hair actually look fine and normal, the only ugly i see is baldness.

there has not been one phyiscal trait i can think that is close to baldness in white men, unless hes really short liek maybe 5 2 - 5 4, but even then seth green is "cute" to girls, i can imaigne a girl liking seth green at 5 3 over a 5 10 dr phil with a six pack (assuming hes 5 10, i have no idea)

And how do you objectively quantify those characteristics? Specially from an anonymous source
You can objectively know a man is tall, blue-eyed, slim. How do you know someone is smart or confident?

confidence is fostered by societies reaction to you.

its not a genetic trait.

if you have moeny, you tend to be really confident, if your tall , that to, if you walk around fully bald in your 20s and peopel treat you badly you will feel badly.

so if a 5 5 guy keeps making moves on girls and tends to get rejected, but the 6 0 guy makes moves on girls and tends to get them, they will feel more confident due to the reaction of girls.

and the reaction of girls for BALDNESS in men is not positive as well.

Yes and that is why no one takes you even remotely seriously on this forum...

So most guys have flawless, perfectly proportioned Hollywood faces do they?...

Maybe HPM lives in Beverly Hills or Chelsea, but walk down your average high street and you will find average looking people with noticeable flaws.

Men with the 10/10 appearance that sperm bank women crave are 1 in a 100, the rest of us are either average, or 7/10 and compensated with good grooming and dress sense.

Just more evidence that supports the idea that society views bald men as defective. Dance around the issue as much as you would like but at the end of the day no one wants their kids to be bald or to be bald themselves. Think about the descriptors used for unattractiveness in men...

short

fat

bald.

Both complete BS. As someone who people tend to describe as a "nerd" I understand that there are a lot of areas in intelligence to consider someone smart. Social intelligence is underrated
A College degree just means your family is rich or you want to be in debt very hard

Very few believe baldness doesn't affect your attractiveness.
Some of us are just pissed at the freaking victimization some of you exhibits. Who the hell calls himself "defective"?
Seriously dude, you say you are OK in the women's department, have a good looking face. You are also in your 30's and bald. Big deal.
I bet you wouldn't have traded places with me 6 years ago, and I had a long mane back then.
From your old pictures, it seems like you had no problems in the image department while young
I was called ugly to my face by several girls while I grew up, and I don't call myself "defective"
You are ugly now, so what? At least you had your time to have fun, some of us never had the choice.

Baldness sucks, but don't make it seem like you turned into a social pariah, because you are just overreacting

bald people will always be seen as social lepers, even if they look quite good, their still BALD which is seen as a social abnormality.

honlesty if we were ALL bald and looked good people would still think its really wierd that people don't have any hair.

it will always be seen as wierd, unless your well into senior citizenship and you have AGE to your face then BALDNESS on top of that, this makes social sense, having baldness and no age on face is like the ultimate social clash.
