I was responding to one of the posts here and then when I clicked to go to the response page, I got this

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

What the tar?!

Hopefully this does NOT mean that the site is being hacked?

Most webhosts have a guaranteed uptime of 99%-99.99% on their servers. You happened to click the button when the SQL server was doing one of its 0.1% - 1% downtime sessions.

That error happens frequently when the user emits an unusually odiferous fart. Open a few windows, let the room air out for a few minutes, and try again later. Connection should be accepted once the electron disturbance caused by the noxious gases is normalized.

Hey Neil. I'm from the NE US and my Norwood I'd place at about a 3 to 3.5 :)

You remind me of someone that used to post on this site.

Do you use the lasercomb and have a cat?

If it was not critical then they would not have written it as an error message in the code. This is indeed a very serious issue which should be addressed by gourmetstylewellness.com.

Send him an email and then just as you are about to press send you will relaise that I taking the P, sorry it's nothing to worry about...

Computer error messages tend to sound worse than they are when they use terms like "Critical Error", but in this case it isn't such a big deal. All that happened was the script couldn't connect to the database for a couple of seconds.

So did the computer thingy think it was critical at first, spewed out the message, then connected to the database and then regretted sending out the first message?

Did you know that on the space shuttle they don't use computers. They use mechanical devices with cogs and stuff.

It said it was a critical error because the script couldn't compete it's function to connect to the database. In this respect it was a critical error but as it was only temporary it isn't really a problem. It is just one of those things that can happen every now and then when connecting to databases.
