I hope someone can answer this. I was on propecia for 5 years and would use minoxidil religiously. I decided to go off propecia due to side effects. i thought I better get a topical DHT blocker and got Dr Lee's Xandrox. It's been 3 months since i stopped propecia and started xandrox and I have a really bad shed. Looks like my hairline went back 2 inches. I'm not sure if the propecia caused my hairline to recede or a new shed due to xandrox. Anyone with a similar situation. I'm freaking and don't know what to do. Suggestions

Is there any evidence that Xandrox is a "topical DHT blocker?" I'm not aware of any, or anything convincing, anyway. Xandrox is essentially minoxidil, plus another ingredient that is not proven to inhibit the synthesis of DHT in the follicles.

Although switching to Xandrox may have caused a shed, since you were already using minoxidil, it shouldn't make that much of a difference. My guess is that going off of propecia caused your hairline to recede, which is much different than a shed.

You might want to try a product that is more likely to help with the DHT problem, such as Revivogen, or spironolactone. You should continue to use minoxidil or Xandrox in addition to this product, however, or you might experience even more hair loss.

I'm literally in the same exact boat as you, except I only took Propecia for 4 months, but quit due to sides. I'm experiencing the same problems with Xandrox 15 (night) and Xandrox 5 (morning).....bad recession and thinning. I am starting to doubt the effectiveness of Xandrox...but I just emailed Dr. Lee for his opinion on spironolactone for me.

what the hell are you guys talking about.....
I am not a proponent of Dr. Lee, but I understand his products are good in combination with finasteride.

Ridding yourselves of propecia is the worst thing you can do if you are talking about an effective treatment for male pattern baldness, sides exluded. Once you come off propecia, after some time, your hair will return to its original state as if you never used propecia. Then it only gets worse from that point. So it should be more than obvious that your shed is due to the discontinuing of propecia.

Your mistake, and its a large one, is that you thought Dr. Lee's Xandrox is a substitute for propecia. Hell No. Xandrox is a force multiplier to the heavy gun that is finasteride/propecia. Use Xandrox as an ADDITION, not a sub for propecia.
