I use Dr Lee's 5% Xandrox (without retinoic acid or beta something valerate) and it's great. I've seen steady improvement in my temple area, with hairs growing further out than before. The top of my head which was thinning has responded incredibly well. I've been using it for two months now.
I used generic minoxidil for 4 months before that and it wasn't quite as effective. It took 3 months for me to see any improvement at all and it was very sparse; I was also using finasteride 1.25mg 5x a week during those same 4 months. It might be unfair for me to say that my biggest improvements have been on Xandrox because I started using it as soon as I dropped generic minoxidil and finasteride but that's when I started to see a definite cosmetic improvement. Great stuff!
I've also been using folligen for 6 months and Nizoral for a year and a half. I'm sure all of these have contributed... I'm maintaining about a Norwood 1.5 right now, down from a 2-2.5 a year and a half ago! It's amazing how lucky we are to live at a time when there are so many effective treatments out there. I'm only 20 and it would be tragic for me to lose my hair so young, I think. Anyway, I've found Xandrox to be a great replacement for minoxidil/finasteride
