I started minoxidil just two weeks ago and after only 4-5 days my hair in the front had thinned out...A LOT! I mean its really noticeable so its not my imagination or anything. Anyway I dont mind having an ordinary shed and crappy hair for some months, since I know this is usally a good sign and that it will grow back, probably stronger and thicker. My only concern is if I'm having some kind of bad reaction or something. I've not had any problems with itching, flaking or redness whatsoever.

What do you think? anyone been through the same thing?

ODB: Initially, I shed allot of hair during the first two months on minoxidil. It would usually go in cycles. I would shed for about three weeks then stop for a while and then shed again. With time it seems like the sheds have become less pronounced and more infrequent. The first two months are the worst and are going to make you question how the minoxidil can be working, when your shedding so much. Just stick with it and know that it's normal for this kind of shedding to happen so quickly.

It doesnt have to be itching, flaking, or red to be irritated. It may not even feel irritated untill you touch it. This is a lesson I just learned the hard way as I had a massive irritation shed this week. Just a word to the wise. At this stage, you're probably having regular min sheds.

Its perfectly normal to shed at the first month of minoxidil. Missing doses wont affect you so quick, so this is not related to that. Being somewhat inconsistant and missing a dose here and there wont hurt you too much as long as you dont stop all together or go too long without! Take heed of my tag,. eternal vigilance. Stick with it and you should be fine.

Hey Morphuesx:

Since being on the Big 3 I've had kind of hecter-sketer results. My hair in general definetly looks and feels rejuvenated and thicker. It doesn't appear as if I'm shedding as much, although it seems like I might be entering another shed phase right now. The only thing I've been a little disappointed in is the area just behind my hairline on the far left and right side. That area has thinned quite a bit but this also leaves me hopeful for new and thicker regrowth in the future. That has always been my greatest problem area. Hope that answers your question.
