First of all I just want to thank the staff and the users of this website, I've been browsing it nonstop for the past week or two and have found it to be an invaluable source of information. If it wasn't for the internet (and this place specifically) I'd be at one of those hair loss 'clinics' paying ridiculous sums of money for treatments I could obtain myself for much less.
Anyway I'm 23 and my hair has started thinning up the front, luckily I've caught it early and my hairline hasn't really receded and the thinning isn't noticeable at all.
After deciding to spring into action a couple of weeks ago I went down to the local pharmacy and picked up a Nioxin kit, a bottle of Nizoral 2% and some vitamins. Last week after researching my options I ordered some finasteride 1mg and some DS Labs products, they have just arrived today.
So I'm going to put the Nioxin aside (keeping it for emergencies) and I'm going to use the DS Labs Revita shampoo and conditioner. Now for my questions:
1. Should I keep using Nizoral 2%? I noticed the Revita shampoo also contains ketoconazole and is to be used daily. If I continue using the Nizoral will it be too much? Will it even provide any further benefit? I've heard too much is bad for your liver.
2. Is Finpecia a good generic finasteride? Are there any differences between it and Propecia?
Cheers for the help (and great forum).
