You Were All Wrong, But That’s Fine.

Hi, I have hair loss.

After a good 4 years of everyone on this forum telling me that I have “nothing to worry about... the only loss here is a loss of brain cells... retard”, the devil himself is knocking at the door.

But wait, there’s a catch, because today I’m feeling quite generous(desperate), that I will offer you that elusive second chance to redeem yourselves.

Nah seriously I wasn’t sure of it myself either too be honest and I feel like a camera never quite grasps it.

If you refer to my first ever post on this forum you will be able to see images of my hair back when I was 20. Judge for yourself what you think of it there but I was content at that time and if it had remained like that until now then I doubt I would be on this forum right now. Link: https://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/intera...ccord-finasteride-what-should-i-expect.95817/

Little background: started thinking I was losing hair around about 16 and I believe it has slowly, however, surely regressed since then, which is 7 years ago. Got on finasteride at 20 years old and had a zero problems up until I quit (cold turkey) and split up with my girlfriend simultaneously about just over a year after starting the treatment. Was definitely maintaining and at that point and I’m sure i had a little bit of a regrowth/thicknesses boost. Forgot about hair loss you could say. However, I regretfully experienced some of the horror side effects but I’m not on propeciahelp, not yet at least, so I won’t delve into detail, but just know I’m perfectly fine now and I would say it took about 3 months to fully recover. I don’t know if it was quitting cold turkey thus crashing my system that fucked me up, or was it the actual drug itself? This grabs my curiosity.

Nowwww present day, I'm considering hopping back on this oxymoronic bastard. Erghhh I was wish there something else. Only because I have been somewhat inspired by others achieving success with lower dosages, so I’m praying it can do the same for me.

Can anyone give me any sort of advice? What was your succesful dosage and frequency? Have you had a bad experience with finasteride/propecua but then went to have success with the drug? Enlighten me please.

If you’re interested see below pictures of my hair today, but please take a look at my old post to compare and make a verdict. I have, and it’s striking.

Thanks guys.

Regards.

C.

I wouldn’t say you’re balding but I would say you’re slowly receding. Chances are it will progress into balding in later life but it’s notning massively aggressive as of now. Look on the bright side.. you’re in a far better place than 95% of the people on this site and if they can save their hair then I’m pretty sure you have every chance of doing it as well. Use finasteride if you’re paranoid but whatever you do just let your hair become an obsession

Just out of curiosity, what does your hair look like when it’s styled? I ask because your hair is literally the exact same colour and texture as mine.. hairline is very similar as well although mine hasn’t receded as much (yet).

Try 0.25mg per day, right now im on 0.5mg per day and if I stabilize im switching to 0.25 mg per day as well. Your hair still looks pretty decent when dry, but when wet the diffuse thinning is clear as f***.

Agree with recedingornot...Start out low dose, just to be on something.
Although your hair looks the same to me...

You had to soak your hair wet to demonstrate how bad you were 'thinning'. I am sorry, but stop being a drama queen/king.

If you feel you are thinning, take the advice above. Or use topical Finasteride/Minoxidil combo and a laser helmet if you want to try something more experimental.

Looks the same which is great considering three years have passed. But dont fool yourself, i had almost the same pattern as you for years, and it accelerated when i thought it should slow down (after i was 30 years old)

It doesnt look the same cant you see it in the profile view pictures that now his temple points dont connect anymore with the top area as before.

Its still early though, get on minoxidil atleast or monitor it to see if it gets worse.

I think for 4 years that has passed it has been a minor change from what I can see. It looks like a little less density in the temples. You are of course going to analyse it a lot more then anyone else, so please keep in mind that to others it’s not as bad as you think.

If you yourself are comfortable going on the meds again I think that’d be a good idea.

I don’t think jumping off any medication like that cold turkey is ever great, who knows how that affected your body?

Regardless, if it means anything I think you have good hair at the present time and you should enjoy it. It looks good how you styled it.
