Hot chick and new guy who is a Nw0 walk into my office when I am away. I forgot to close the GourmetStyleWellness window. TO make matters worse I was readin one of Taug's painful threads about dealing with hairloss. I come back and find them chuckling. I overhear the world "bald" and "transplant". I am both embarrased and pissed at the same time. I joke around with them and let it go. Now every time I run into them they have this annoying lil grin on their faces! Pisses me off!

Go ahead post some of your most "memorable" hair loss moments.

Ha ha that happened to me sorta. My cousins and family were over for a Christmas party and decided to go on my computer. sure enough they took a look what websites I've been loking through on the google bar and GourmetStyleWellness and hairloss-reversible pop up. All dieing of laughter then proceed to examine my hair previously unaware that I was having trouble with it. I'll bet they're all reading my posts right now!!!

Cheers Taug!
Seriously though good post, I just cant put into words what I feel about that situation I would have just got in my car and drove 100miles. :freaked2:
Cant believe no ones ever thought of this topic before.
Still trying to think of mine, had to put up with some real derogatory comments that have been pretty embarasing but nothing really in the same league as that! :freaked:

is that the best you got, how about a chick rubbing fingers through your hair and she ends up with toppik and dermmatch all over her fingers and then takes off running screaming

Well my gf uses my computer when she's at my house visiting since i've graduated, and I moved away from college. She always checks her email for school but i'm pretty sure when i'm gone she's probably gone through my history and come across GourmetStyleWellness discussion forum a few times along w/ a few other hairloss things. We're close to a year now so i'm not all that worried.

Don't you fools take precautionary measures like:

(1) Not surfing any hairloss-related sites at work;
(2) Closing your damn browsers at all times after; and
(3) Deleting your freakin history before company.

I got jokes about my hairline in high school but stopped after sophomore year.

My roommate who was a diffuse NW6 asked me if I was balding because of my hairline. f*****g Prick should've talked, he has the same problem.

It wasnt embaressing but it was a comment made by a friend of mine (this guy honestly thinks 75% of guys are BALDING, i dont know why he choses balding, he's a perfect NW0 its weird. Anyways we're camping and all of us are stoned and drunk to oblivion. anyways we were talking about Chin straps for some reason and he's like 'oh dude you cant do it, you got a fucked hairline'. Which is true, but i didn't really expect non bald people to say anything.[/i]

Before my first hair transplant we had an office party. All 30 of us were pretty much in one room sitting at the table eating (buffet style) when my associate (he works for me) walks by me after he got his plate of food and shouts "Wow look at that bald spot!" Of course I was bothered by it but I joked it off as if I wasn't upset.

3 years later and 3 hair transplants later this 22 year old associate of mine has a big bald spot in the back of his head and mine is much less obvious thanks to hair transplantation. If I had to guess, he's heading toward a NW6 eventually as the area below the crown is looking thin as well.

He now asks me for advice about hair loss. Go figure ;).

The bottom line is...

People are mean sometimes. Some people don't know it bothers us and some people just don't care. Either way, these people have their own insecurities and those who insist on making fun of others for theirs are insecure themselves.

We live and learn and try not to let it bother us.

At the same time...we should do what we do to help us feel better about ourselves and not to please others.

Best wishes,

Falc

bad karma for that fool

Hmm, yea good topic, a sad topic, but it's good for us to vent a little steam.

My worst one was at a cost cutters, it was pretty early in my hairloss cycle so I was like nineteen and still at home. So my mom was there with me, and since I'd been bitching at her that I'm losing my hair and she wouldn't believe me. She asks the stylist, "is his hair thick?", the stylist answers, "no, I wouldn't say so, he seems to be receding a bit". Oh gee, like I didn't know that, thanks for asking mommy dearest, and making me depressed for the day.

Mothers are the absolute worst when it comes to balding, they never believe you until you shove your bald spot into their face. But oh boy, too late by then, coulda been on treatments all that time....

When I was at moms house for lunch in some weekend last months and I said that I have lost hair at temples somehow and I will probably go bald, she said always "no, you have thick hair. Look at that guy (someone we know and who is totally bald) how less hair he has" or she said "every guy is loosing hair, you can not have childy hair forever" :) The best was when she once tought my hair at back and said "wow youve got so much hair" which really made me laught cause even if I am totally bald I would probably have lot of hair at back:)

thats happened to me so many times. not with any hot chicks thank god
but theres been times when ive been on here and someones come over to my desk unexpectedly and asked me something and i havent been able to close the window. its like - you know its there, they know its there, you know they know its there but theres nothing you can do. closing the window only draws more attention to it. awful. i never learn either - it nearly happened just then but i diverted them by standing up!
