I've been noticing alot of young people getting hairloss. I wonder if this has to do with the lack of excercise. As you may know, theres alot of people with internet addiction or tv addiction. They don't see as much professional atheletes that are balding (of course there are exception).

Saddly no. It's just your genetics. So maybe your grand grand grand father drank beer and chased hookers all the time and this is the punishment that him and many generations after him will need to pay.

Don't know if theres more young people with hairloss nowadays, I think that theres more focus on the physical appearance these days. But losing your hair (male pattern baldness) is purely down to genetics. You can live a perfect clean and healthy lifestyle but if your hair follicles are not resistant to DHT then you will lose your hair. Some people think that excercise leads to hairloss due to increased testosterone but this is'nt the case either.

Correct. If you watch older movies (like, 1960s or earlier) you see a lot more people than you do nowadays with blatantly receding hairlines and all-out baldness. Like, even those terrible teen movies from the 50s and 60s where all the actors were in their mid 20s at least will generally include tons of males with receding hairlines, even as the leads. These days everything has to be perfect so we can't have much of that sort of thing in movies/tv, it might give people the idea it's normal and acceptable.

I agree, exercise probably helps to a some extent, not exercising probably cost you half a Norwood over your lifetime.

exercise helps your blood flow, which take more nutrients and minerals to your hair which in turn makes them stronger and healthier, but without propecia or dutasteride, it'll VERY LITTLE to your male pattern baldness.

That improved bloodflow will also take more DHT to tour hair follicles then.

I have noticed the same too

Maybe it is me but I have seemed to notice this trend too...
I am 34 and when I was in college, don't seem to see this many young people balding so fast...I am back in school right now.

Also, someone said cut down on sexual activity would help...I think so too. Reduce testosterone in your blood anyway you can but don't go too low.

You can reduce testosterone by reducing your meat intake...

vegeguy has a point about meat, I've a vegetarian long distance runner friend, he developed puffy nipples by having his testosterone way low all the time.

He's got an amazing head of hair.

So you're going to use one anecdote to prove that being a vegetarian helps with your hair? Look, if your genes say you're going to bald, you're going to bald. You can slow or stop the process with medication

Moby is a vegan I believe and he is super bald.

dude chill, I was refering to the effects of meat on testosterone levels.... he developed boobs man.
But I see your point so I'll restate my original line incase some new guy misreads it. Being vegetarian does not stop balding, castration does not stop either, we're just predisposed.

um no they arent? u are being paranoid...

i have a full head of hair...do u think everytime i see someone bald, i start thinking omg he is bald, what must we do to him, or think anythingl ike that? the same way... no one tv does either...male baldness has been hapening for like 10,000 years, it's just normal, no one really cares if someone is bald.

Michael Jordon, 2 Pac, Bruce Willis, Patrick Smith, Kerry King, Andre Agassi, + a whole bunch of black rappers...

some of the most popular people in the world...

removing ur testicles... will stop production of testosterone by a bloody large amount, pretty much like 95% of it, this will stop it being converted to DHT, which will stop baldness, unless ur already bald, then it wont.

yes, but few people are desperate enough to do this.

Amibald,
Sports stars and rappers are not cast as anyone, they are themselves !

Notice that I said USUALY. Classic example the bald guy in seinfeld = loser
Or in the UK Barry from eastenders, Norris from coronation st = losers although not all baldies are pathetic there are plenty of characters like this on tv. If no one realy cares is someone is bald as you wrote in your post then why does this forum or hair loss drugs or hair transplants exist?

mainly because they are paranoid or scared people will judge them or dont want their appearance changed radically, it's because of the individual, not anyone else.

the bald guy from seinfeld... is portrayed as a loser, because he is meant to.... he is an actor, his baldness has nothing to do with any of that, sure sometimes he makes a joke about his baldness, but thats just for the humour, i dont think he cares... btw he is an actor too... a tv persona.

(Duh) Thats what I meant! Obviously I know that these characters are not real people but just actors portraying them. I'm sure that the actors are not losers in real life and its possible that they dont care about being bald, but the point I'm making is these characters were written as losers but when they cast actors to play them they chose bald guys to portray them. These people must subconciously see bald guys as being second rate. Obviously they would'nt have a cast someone who looks like Brad pitt or Tom cruise to play these roles as no one would believe that they were losers.
