Has anyone heard of shedding all over the head while on minoxidil or fluridil. not just at the area of application but all over including the sides and back? thanks.

martin, you may be exper. a telogen effluvium. very few people shed that much hair per day, but i have, although ive been on finasteride for 5 months. I would stay on finasteride til you go to a dermatologist ask some questions.

have you been shedding consistently since beginning finasteride? has the acne, oilyness continued? has your libido increased. if so it might be hyper androgenicity. if you haven't had any of these symptoms then definitely give finasteride a year. Mabey consider minoxidil.

when you say shave your head do you mean bic it to the skin, or like a close buzz cut. going completely bald always seemed extreme to me, but i wouldn't mind a realy short crew cut i wasn't receded... not a whole lot of options unfortunately.
