BBC - Soy 'stops cancer and baldness'

You make it sound like I needed to talk with a dietician to know that I should mix in some vegetables and fruit, but I've seen the Food Pyramid like everyone else. The diet I followed was the Zone Diet, which I still like and found highly effective. I had well-balanced meals and merely exercised...

BBC - Soy 'stops cancer and baldness'

Personal Experience I'd be wary of using soy, or at least overdoing it. As with many posts here, I have anecdotal experience to share. My hair loss began following a diet of soy milk. I set a New Year's resolution on Jan. 1 2004 to lose some weight and began drinking soy milk instead of dairy...

Proscar purchase using Medical Insurance (in the US)?

Last week I had a Proscar prescription filled, and they ran it through insurance despite me telling them it would be paid out of pocket. I believe that insurance would have covered it no questions asked (at least at the time of purchase) because they had already rung it up for me...

    Dr. Proctors products??

Just got the hair regrowth shampoo... RayReadon, I just got the so-called "lite" version of Proctor's shampoo from http://www.babeskin.com. The price was right and shipping was free. After two washings, my scalp and hair feel great, but we'll see if it translates into any regrowth.

    No shed yet...a bad sign?

Perhaps I don't. From all descriptions, I assumed that it was hair loss above and beyond what one normally has experienced through life. In my case, my loss has stayed the same, fairly minimal, but my hair just keeps miniaturizing more and more. Thanks.

    No shed yet...a bad sign?

I'm approaching the 8-month mark on finasteride. I haven't seen any changes yet, but when I read the other posts, it sounds like I should expect a mandatory shed before it really does its thing. Has anyone else found success without the propecia shed? I guess the bigger question is when we can safely...

    Sulfate free shampoos

Unfortunately, the Back to Basics shampoo that the previous poster linked to does have SLS in it. I just picked it up at the store and was disappointed in that fact.

    Soy-induced hair loss?

Thanks for the feedback. I thought my post might be received as if it were the subject of a late-night radio talk show, but it sounds like I've got some fellow travelers. I've stayed away from the soy milk, but there hasn't been much of a turn-around. My biggest challenge right now is being...

    Soy-induced hair loss?

It was almost a year ago that I noticed the characteristic miniaturization of my frontal hairline. I'd been combing my hair back, gangsta-style for months previously and was amazed that in one haircut cycle my hair looked unacceptable to style that way anymore. BTW, I was 32 years old. It...

    Start using 5% minoxidil b4 propecia/proscar

I'll offer an alternative viewpoint and say hold off on the minoxidil until you see what finasteride can do for you. (That's what I'm doing currently.) Most of those who recommend minoxidil have shackled themselves to it for life already, but you've still got some flexibility of treatments at this point. I...

    Going to see doctor

Good advice all around...I went to a dermatologist this week for a followup visit on some lab work, and although it wasn't particularly enlightening, I think it's good to have that expert confirmation that one indeed has male pattern baldness before starting on a regimen. My dermatologist, oddly enough...

Making my own Dr Lees Regrowth shampoo

Generic T/SAL Cassin, Thanks for a much cheaper remedy. Have you ever tried a generic T/SAL such as Walgreens brand? I happened to notice that they're selling two bottles of the stuff for $6.99 (both online and at my local store). And these bottles are 16 oz., not the wimpy 4 oz. of the...

Whats a good regular shampoo to use?

No one answer... As with most things on this forum, you'll get a lot of varying opinions to the questions you've posed. Re: shampoo to alternate with Nizoral. I've read every shampoo-related discussion on here that I could find, and the majority seem to recommend using a mild, thickening...

    American Crew revitalize spray

I use it. AC is the only Copper Peptide that I've used, so I can't really compare it to anything else. It smells great (to me), has a mildly soothing effect on my scalp, but like others who have reported on CU peptides, I can't say that I've experienced hair growth as a result of using it. Then...

    ProAnagen...a Revivogen knockoff?

I found a link to http://www.proanagen.com on another website. Has anyone tried this stuff? The description of the ingredients sounds an awful lot like Revivogen and some of the home remedies I've read about. Anyway, it's much cheaper than Revivogen, but I wanted to see if anyone has ever...
