If finasteride is not agreeing with u, you don't necessarily need to go natural, unless this is your prime purpose. Look into topicals, less side effects. SuperZIX is good and cheap, also RU, azelaic acid, etc could be options.

There is a bit of science behind it, one published scientific journal paper (I know one paper isn't proof). At the moment I would try dog poo if I thought it would work. Cant get hold of RUM, so might try this instead.

Definitely getting better coverage. U might also let it grow a bit on top and use thickening held and shampoos. Keep going though and don't get lazy with the routine!
