This worked for me, I had already been on meds for years but was slowly losing ground on min and finasteride, so I added dutasteride 2x per week. For the first time i experienced regrowth and my hair improved dramatically.

Theres a good chance he'd regrow some hair but not everyone gets sides you know. If he expects sides he will more than likely get them. Placebo effect plays a role for sure.

Hi, maybe you quit finasteride too early. No changes in your hair on finasteride was a good thing, shows you are at least maintaining, for many people this is all finasteride does. dutasteride is more powerfull so hopefully better results but dont expect them and definitely dont quit meds if you are maintaining what you have

Your best bet for the long term is to start finasteride. Biotin and zinc wont do much if anything to help.

Hi Oncall, sorry to hear you have had bad experiences in the past but you know hair transplants have come a long way. It may be worth a consult with a well respected Doctor. Without seeing pics its hard to say but with a combination of FUE and SMP you might be able to hide the scars.
