Sorry For Posting In Mens Section Again

Thank you very much for that informative post. My hairs are mixed thickness to be honest. I was naturally blonde until about 2 years ago and my hair darkened quite significantly and my darker hairs become really thick and coarse but I still have fine blonde hairs too. Interestingly my arm hair...

No I've never tried Minoxidil. I don't have any history of balding in my family and I'm not sure about DHT, we don't get copies of our blood tests as standard and I only know about the testosterone as I was asking about increased facial hair. As for miniaturization, thats another thing I'm...

And yes had TSH checked it's perfectly normal, I have low end of normal ferritin but wasn't told this could cause thinning hair or anything. I've been taking an iron supplement most days just in case.

Thanks very much for your reply. I might mention it to my GP as I can't see a dermatologist. I'm a little scared of spironolactone to be honest as I already have a reduced libido and get really bad pms but I guess it won't hurt to discuss it.

I think so, my parting is widening. It appears to be everywhere on my head and in certain places on my body.

Hmmm interesting. I am completely at a loss then. Of course there's no guarantee the gel caused their hair thinning but what a coincidence. If it did turn out to be the Isotretinoin gel then I'd need to choose between acne or thinning hair!

Thanks. I really do hope it's temporary. Just knowing the cause would take a lot of stress away. It's extremely frustrating not being able to afford to see a specialist as we can't choose who we get referred to in the UK.

Thought I should add that I'm using a topical retinoid (isotretinoin) for acne but my GP told me topical retinoids don't have hair thinning as a side effect.

No no medication at all. The last time i took medication was in 2014 and that was antidepressants. However I take nothing at all now. I'm hoping it is just stress but I can't help wonder if it's something more. I also have a puffy face that started around the same time and (sorry for the too...

Thank you. Hopefully the rheumatologist can help me as that seems to be the only way I can see a professional. Although they're fully booked until after Christmas. Thanks again for responding.

Thank you for replying and yes uneven is how my daughter also describes it. From the front you can tell the left half is further back than the right side. The unevenness is actually how I came to tell something wasn't right. Thank you about the colour, my hair is dyed so it isn't my natural...

Sorry For Posting In Mens Section Again

I can't afford to see a dermatologist or even to buy Rogaine (im not currently working), but even if I could I'm terrified of side effects. I have mental health issues and feel I am not being taken seriously by professionals as they think I'm imagining the thinning. I would love to see a...

Sorry For Posting In Mens Section Again

I wear my hair down every single day. I have seen some women on buses etc with thinning hair on those areas (usually older than me), I just don't understand why it would thin so quickly. My parents are both early 50's with no receding. It is getting worse and worse as each month surpasses too. I...

Sorry For Posting In Mens Section Again

Thank you for replying. A couple of relatives can tell it is receding and I also have redness all over my scalp that blanches. Not sure if that means anything. I also have thinning hair on my body. I was told I have low testosterone (albeit within range), which shocked me as I have increased...
