Finasteride is more for maintaining/keeping your hair rather than regrowth, but the good news is you’ve started very early. I’d personally throw in some minoxidil, even once a day helps a lot and you might see regrowth
I appreicate the input, Niki99, Ollie and whatintheworld. Probably update this post at the 1.5yr mark.
Strange final question, however I haven't seen it on the forums yet; how important is it to really take finasteride at the same EXACT time everyday? By this I mean about 10% of the time I take it Id say its about 40min-1hr late from the exact time I took it. I don’t think this holds much importance?
Why are you obsessed with me? It's difficult to tell in those pics, but I'd say NW2.
The first pics. I didn't see the other. Yeah, I'd say you're borderline NW3, but not really there. More like a high NW2.
Edit: Your hairline looks sold though so you can get a small hair transplant if you're not happy with it and then you're good.
Yup 17 days away from a full year. Ive already accepted it, its been killing me mentally for close to 2 years now. Wore hats 24/7 for the first year, said f*** it once I hopped on finasteride and just rock this sh*t. It feels like I have lost ground but I’m pretty sure it was my left side just catching up to my right side. We’ll see how things go the next 6 months. My scalp gets severe dandruff during the months of Dec-April, not even ketoconzole helps, like it does for 3 hrs after I shower but then its back to constant flaking itching and shedding. It does seem like it, but it will go by fast once you accept your fate, and hopefully see that the recession has stopped. Are you on finasteride?
My mother doesn’t have any brothers but yea I have yet to see any male in my family over the age of 50 with decent hair. Although none of them are on finasteride, Im well aware of that. How is your mom's dad? Her brothers? That's more important than your dad's hair. It really doesn't look you have anything to worry about as long as your on finasteride, and most people aren't even going to notice your recession.
Most men have hair loss past 40, so if they are holding off until 40 then I'd say you don't have to worry about severe loss. Just taking finasteride is probably going to be enough for you. You're lucky in a way because with severe Androgenetic Alopecia you can be on finasteride and still go bald in a year. For someone with even a decent family history, finasteride is amazing at preventing hair loss.
Yea, the before photo was taken with unwashed/shampoo hair so it was quite oily. The second was washed. I guess Im tweaking, I feel like styling my hair has gotten harder. But I havent had a good haircut in a while. I also thought it might have receded slightly more on the right side in the photos. Seeing sh*t.I think it has gotten better. Less wispy, fuller and recession seems to be a bit less also.
Yea Im just conflicted because Im pretty certain its gotten worse (not way worse, barely any) but a lot of users saying better. Pictures dont really help much tbhIt's really tough to see anything. To gauge small changes take macro photos of your temples.
I agree. I think these two make it the most clear/obvious.Super hard to tell
