thanks man, still receded quite a bit, I just wanna find out why im getting acne in those hairline areas, its painful too.

I got acne around my hairline once because I was touching it too much. Subconsciously. It became a tic to check if my hair was still there.
It could also be that your scalp is inflamed but then it would itch like mad as well.

oh dam that actually describes me, I did the same thing haha, id follow my hairline with my fingers and check too. could be right, maybe too much friction from massaging?

The acne is probably due to increased sebum production since you stopped finasteride.
Im not sure about that though... I had crazy acne even on finasteride. Especially on the receding hairline areas, painful pimples too... I had oily skin on Finasteride. Im not sure how to fix the acne part. Im sure theres a relation or root cause but not sure what else to do. Im hoping maybe the derma roller will get rid of the acne.

Since being off Finasteride, hairline is continuing to recede but its not too bad.Ive also noticed my Mood is way better. I kind of has this suspicion that finasteride was maybe making me a bit depressed or lower mood. But that's the only thing I noticed get better recently. I also decided to try out Hairmetto. Its a company that makes DHT blockers using CO2 extracted saw palmetto and various other dht blockers. Kind of falls into the category of snake oil but I wanted to try it out and experiment. Im using the dht blocking Oil and serum + 5% minoxidil before bed. Also still taking saw palmetto and stinging nettle root orally.

I wanted to post that I've also started to change the way I massage my hairline/thinning spots. Before, when I started receding I used to rapidly massage oils and shampoo at the hairline and GLIDE over the scalp. I did this because I believed it would enhance " circulation ". I would do this in the shower, before bed, throughout the day. It never occurred to me that I could actually be making things worse? Apparently towel drying your hair is not good either. It can cause friction and weaken the hairs. I know genetics is the main cause.

Instead of gliding rapidly over the scalp with the fingertips, I do things differently. I instead place my fingertips in certain areas and move the scalp. Kind of like im loosening up the scalp and making it flexible. When I massage shampoo in, I glide GENTLY over the hairs. If I do any kind of gliding over the scalp, its with almost no pressure. Being as gentle and as careful as possible. Sometimes I watch ASMR barber videos and see these head massages they do. I cringe at them sometimes cause they're yanking and pulling at the hair and using various tools to really SCRUB down the scalp and it doesn't seem right to me. Last time I got my head buzzed at the barber he was SUPER rough with the buzzer and made for an uncomfortable experience. So, I now am very gentle. Its more of an experiment I suppose.

If anyone has any thoughts or comments let me know how you massage or what you think. It all comes down to genetics. People can most likely do whatever they want to their hair, if they don't have the male pattern baldness gene they wont lose any hair. I just feel like if you have the male pattern baldness gene, things can accelerate it.
