take a look at the post that i made below yours. Im in the exact same position. Responded fantastically, right around 2 year mark seemed to have lost all gains and went back to my pre-minoxidil hair state. Shaved it down, ill see when it grows back in in a few months the state its in.
perhaps its a synchronized shed and it will grow back..thats what im hoping for at least
Yeah! Thats EXACTLY what i did about 3 weeks ago. It was long and looked awesome, then within two weeks prior to my shave down I got massive sheds, like NEVER before. My hair was noticably thinner. I was really depressed and I came to the conclusion that my longer hair was getting in the way of my foam application. So I shaved it down to about a number 3 and decided to start from scratch again. Ive been so tempted to give up the Rogaine foam, but im scared to stop now. Im gonna try and ride it out one last time
Don't give up on it if you had noticeable gains from it.. I went through mini-sheds every 4 or 5 months on minoxidil but my hair was back to being awesome within 2 months or so...
but the 2 year mark shed...that was unreal. It had been so long since my hair felt like such $#iT, i was taken back to those days when i was miserable before i started the minoxidil.. I guess that tells me that minoxidil worked to thicken up my hair a lot during those 2 years.
Shaving is a good idea when you start to shed really bad. The stress starts to bring out obsessive behaviors like counting hairs every shower session or checking ur hair constantly. That cant be good for your well being...So i say shave it down so at the very least its not constantly on your mind...and hope by the time it grows back the shed is over and you've regrown most of it
