Hi everyone,
I'm 30 years old and since over 3 months I started noticing uncommon hairloss in the shower.
Every time when I run my hand through my hair in the shower I have 10 hairs in my hand (see picture), and this only starts getting less when I reach around 100 hairs (but can def be more). I know losing between 100 and 200 hairs a day might be normal, but I have never had this before. It also became very dry.
There haven't been any significant changes in my hair & health routines, apart from a organic coconut spray from Urtekram which I've been using since last summer and made my hair look great, although I've stopped using this now. I've experienced stress, but this is not different than any other period in my life.
I didn't notice any changes in my hairline going more back than in my 20s yet and there is no hairloss on my pillow or stuff like that, but that's probably because my lost hair tends to stay between my other hairs as I have very curly dense hair.
I went to a dermatologist and she said it's a "close call" / borderline , and says it's Alopecia Androgenetica. She just went through my hair and prescribed minoxidil. Didn't really have a good feeling about how quick she went through the consultation. I didn't start minoxidil yet as I'm not sure this is really a good solution for me, as I've heard you start losing a lot of hair first and you have to take it your entire life.
My mother's dad started losing is top hair around his 40's, same with her brother.
I also had a huge vitamine D shortage and now started taking a vit D supplement.
I have an appointment with another dermatologist early July, but wanted to hear your opinions.
Thanks
