Hello guys,
I've been going bald since I was 17 and now I'm 27, I lost most of it.
No worries, I've always accepted my faith... But since a week or so, I'm starting to get a little in to the subject. Since most of you here are my partners in faith, I figured you guys could help me with some questions I have. I would appriciate it if you guys could help me out.
I want to know about hair follicles. When you are bald, are the follicles actually "gone" or are they like "asleep"? Are they actually not present anymore or are they just not growing hair? This piece of information seems to be hard to find on the internet. Some say the one thing, others the other thing. I hope somebody can clarify.
Since I started to look around on the webs, I noticed that all the information is somewhat contradicting. There is no consensus on anything.
But I read about blood flow, and that blood flow plays a part in balding. The theory was that DHT has a chance to accumulate in your scalp, because the blood flow is limited, and therefor you lose your hair. There is not enough blood to "wash away" the DHT.
I wanted to know how much of that is true. Some people swear by this theory, others say that it has been disproven since the early 90's. I wonder what you guys have to say about this. According to this theory, message of the scalp is helpful.
Hope you guys can tell me a little something about it and maybe post some links for me to look at.
Thanks in advance guys!
