One should take responsibility though. I understand side effects, but look at Westonci. Lots of people jumping to conclusion that his experiment failed. But take a step back and look what he achieved in the past year. First off, he has very aggressive hair loss before starting his experiment. Second, once starting his experiment, his hair loss hasn't advanced, meaning he has maintained. Third, he has a little regrowth going on.It does not work like that.
Dutasteride lowers your sperm count for one year. Finasteride does not.
My derm has only some individual patients on duta. Those who are sure they will not procreate for one year. You cannot have a 24 years old on duta.
Like you cannot have a 16 years old (the year I started thinning) on fina.
And in general, we should stop saying it's one's fault if medications don't work and one loses hair.
The most impressive thing is he is not on any sort of AA. Seti + PGE2 + Wounding + LiCl has helped him maintain.
There are plenty of options people have if they get side effects from finasteride/dutasteride.
RU, CB, Seti, PGE2, castor oil in DMSO, estriol, wounding, etc.. I understand some of these are not substitutes for an AA, but they are great additions to your hair regimen. If you're not on oral AA because of side effects, you 100% should be on topical AA. Otherwise, you have no one to blame but yourself.
