Because RepliCel's approach requires cell cultivation facilities and a proper process, and Histogen's needs Wnt7 (which also has some risks associated according to some Stanford people). Not exactly trivial.

noone's paranoid about cancerous growth ? ... the general feeling i get from this thread is that everyone would put themselves in the line for a clinical trial (which is so dangerous on the face of it... who knows what the cancer rate is going to be with this thing)

As we already discussed, only Histogen has cancer potential. RepliCel's RCH-01, as all additional cells are grown outside the body (as opposed to inside with Histogen's HSC), does not have this risk.

It's five years away from being five years away.

Seriously though, when someone says '5' for anything, it's a general statement. When someone says "I'll be there in 5 minutes." Maybe one in 1000 people actually come within 5 minutes. All it means is we don't have an actual time frame.

I'd be way more excited if an article said baldness to be cured in 6 years. At least then it would seem like wow, these guys actually are on the lookout for something... why 6 years, is something set for release?

If you hear 5 years, it basically means they have no idea when it will come so let's give them a reasonable time to get them off my back. AKA, "The game's over in 5 minutes!" "5 more minutes until I'll be ready!"

If someone said 4 or 6, it means they probably have a plan. 5 means... we have no idea when it will happen, but get off our back.

stormshadow, Sep 23, 2003:

I'm 23 years old and have been diffuse thinning the past year. If I were to get a transplant say....sometime next year...I figured I could live with it for another 4 years. I could then get another.

Now, I know it's not smart to get transplants at such a young age. But isnt hair cloning coming in 5-10 years? If that is the case, I can get a couple transplants before that time and still be ok right?

Thanks
