Best possible hairline + ensuring it stays down?

I've posted here before and have shared some pictures publicly. I'm a young guy and only have been wearing for about 3 months now. I research a lot of stuff myself and am pretty knowledgeable about everything, but I'm a very busy guy and don't want to do any maintenance myself; I'd rather go ever 2 weeks to the salon.

I'm seriously struggling with the hairline though. So far I've bought my systems myself from Lordhair. I'm pleased with the quality; they seem fine for me and the salon has given them a stamp of approval, too. I'm using full french lace systems.

The hairline, however, often lifts up after just 2-3 days, and sometimes never even lays flat at all, and no matter what, the salon hasn't solved the problem. They've even tried 2-3 separate coats of bond, plus max sport hold down first, etc. and it still is not perfectly flat and secure. I get extremely irritated when I wake up just 2 mornings after a full installation, take a shower, and have my hairline lifting up several millimeters. It ruins my entire day/week, and I can't be bothered to have to deal with that outside of salon visits. They're already using the strongest stuff, so I don't understand why the hairline is not staying secure.

I watch a lot of the Curtis guy (MyHairExperience) on YouTube and he wears ultra-thin-skin polyeurethane and says it's better for him. And he exposes his hairline, and it looks fantastic, and it is completely smooth. I'm thinking about trying a poly unit to see if it helps with the hairline issue, but I'm slightly concerned about working out and sweating. But, he lives in Florida and says they're fine for him.

A lot of people seem to say they have better hairline experiences with poly. So then I have a question. They make units that are poly around the back but lace in the front, so why don't they do the reverse? Lace base with poly front hairline, since poly seems to give a better and more durable hairline?

I believe this is a very popular options among those who order custom units. Lace base with a poly perimeter is what it is called. I am a young guy who has been wearing for a couple of years now and I have seen people mention these lace base with poly perimeter plenty of times. I wear a poly and it is easy to clean. Attachment is pretty good as well and I workout 5 days a week. I think you would be surprised by trying a poly out. Part of the getting used to wearing part is by trying out new and different things. You have already made the jump to try a system. So why not experiment with it to see what your best results will be? It's different for everyone and I can guarantee you that the people who have been wearing for a considerable amount of time will tell you the same thing and that it takes experimentation and experience wearing.

Good luck!

Thanks for the comment. I actually did order and received my poly unit, so I'm going to go ahead and try that next time. However, I'm a little discouraged because my stylist at HairClub said I'm "going to hate it." She cuts and styles my hair great, and she's very pleasant and talkative and open about things, so it hurt me to hear her say that. I don't know why. Maybe she is used to only dealing with thicker poly units that older guys wear and for whatever reason struggle with...I don't know. I guess I'll find out if I like it better or not.

Is your poly unit a 0.03mm? Right now is a challenging time to try out a hair system for the first time due to the quality because of the pandemic. I remember before the pandemic that all of my pieces were good quality along with the hair being really good quality. I've heard of it being hit or miss on pieces since the pandemic has caused some issues. Just keep that in mind as you are trying things out. If it's a 0.03mm unit you do have to be careful when taking it off for maintenance and cleaning. I have a pretty quick method to cleaning that has saved me a lot of time, feel free to DM me. Also, make sure your stylist you're seeing is also handling your unit with proper care and not being too rough on it if it is a 0.03mm. Maybe she isn't used to doing poly pieces? It's funny you say that because my stylist who introduced me to systems wears poly and says that I would hate trying lace.

I just checked; it's 0.06mm.

I go to HairClub for now...I know some people have lots of negative things to say about them but their stylists are all professional and I haven't found anyone better near me, so I'm going there for now. I tried going to a lady who runs her own business but she did a bad job with styling and the adhesive. She has no idea how to cut a young guy's hair.

My stylist at HairClub seems pretty professional; I'm sure she deals with guys who wear all types. I think she's convinced I'm going to hate it because of less breathability. And maybe I will. We'll see. I really just have to get the hairline to stay perfect for at least 1 week, and I'll be happy. But I still have to figure out exactly what the problem is; still don't know if it's the adhesive/bond, the lack of a custom system, or what.

I tie a tie around my head along the hairline after a shower. It helps the hairline set straight again.
