So I began doing daily scalp massages and I believe it helps. My reasoning? I usually have a mildly itchy/sensitive hairline, and it's always been more itchy above the right temple which just so happens to be the area that I've lost the most hair (it's receded much further than the left side). Also that same area (above the right temple) has been very sensitive for awhile (i.e. it hurts more than the left side when I press down hard).

Anyways, since I started doing massage that sensitivity/itchiness has decreased dramatically. What I usually do is when I shower in the morning I will massage the scalp (well most the front region) for about 30 second for shampoo and 30 seconds for conditioner. Then, after I get out of the shower I usually apply Nioxin leave in foam and, while lying in a manner so that my head is below my heart, I'll softly "tap" my entire scalp for about a minute.

What are your guy's thoughts on massage and/or the best type of massage to do?

Not really a massage, but i think Tom Hagerty's scalp exercise is more beneficial than massage.

I tried the big tits on the head thing, I'm not sure it worked :)

Thanks for the reference to the Hagerty exercises. Are those the ones found here: http://www.hairloss-reversible.com/my_approach2.htm ?

Trying to wiggle the ears? I've NEVER been able to do that, that's going to be a very interesting task.

Has anyone here not been able to wiggle their ears but now are able to?

Yup thats the page

Luckily i have always been able to move my ears, so learning to do the exercise was a no brainer. If you can't do it very well, i suggest lying with the back of your head against a pillow and trying to do it. The pillow may help you gain control of those muscles because it provides a sort of bio-feedback. Also note that it may take several days or weeks to gain control of those muscles. And then Mr. H says he didn't benefit until about 8 months in, and that was with dietary changes and healthier eating. Theres nothing to loose by doing them however, so its worth it for me.

Cheers
