Bleaching hair

First off, apologies if this has been covered before.

I'm a 22 year old guy whose hair has been gradually thinning since age 18 in a classic pattern, with it getting to the point this last year where if you looked down on my head from above you would clearly see i was losing fairly moderately.

Anyway, in an unrelated decision, i had my hair bleached a few days ago. The barber happened to tell me it would make my hair appear thicker and easier to style as a result of the drying action of the bleach. However i didn't anticipate how much of an impact it would actually have. Now if you were to look down on my head from above it would hardly look like I was thinning, if at all. It has thickened my hair up remarkably. Of course light blond hair makes thinning less obvious, but it really has thickened up a hell of a lot too. So any guys who are in fairly early thinning stages, maybe give it a go!

Of course my hair is pretty dry now and feels slightly synthetic at times, but i'm more than willing to exchange that for the increase in thickness.

Any pics to share?

I kicked myself earlier about this - I didn't think to take a before pic. Obviously i could give you an after but that's not much use to anyone. Sorry :(
If i go from natural colour to blond again i'll make sure to take one.

I would think bleach isn't very good for hair. I used a product with bleach many years ago to lighten my hair a bit and ended up losing clumps.

if you noticed an "instant effect" then take into account that hair can only grow a few centimetres a month
also bleaching makes the hair thinner whist not lowering the density it will be thinner
hair dye can break hair and if you don't know how to treat bleached hair you'll ruin it, like blow dry and straighteners can ruin bleached hair and break it (maybe only applies platinum blonde, i can't remember anymore lol)

Hmm, i wonder what causes it to look so much thicker then. I'll ask next time i'm at the barbers or something. I doubt it can be my treatments, as i'm only on Tricomin and Revivogen so i'm not expecting miracles.

But i have heard from several people, including my own experience with other colours, that hair is always a bit thicker after you've dyed it (no matter what colour). They should do a study with density and sh*t.

Bleaching is actually not a hair removal method, but rather a way to make the hair less noticeable. This is especially useful for areas that already have thin but dark and therefore noticeable hair like the arms, face, or neck. Bleaching is performed by applying a chemical to the desired area, which removes the pigment from the hair.
