Well, I hope you are right about this. If I have Telogen Effluvium I have Telogen Effluvium and male pattern baldness, because I definitely have male pattern baldness. My hairline has receeded hugely since mid Dec. and prior to that I had no visible signs of hairloss. The thing that freaks me out is that my shedding and recession pretty much coincided. I interpret that to mean that I either have aggressive male pattern baldness with recession of hairline and crown and diffuse thinning all over, or I have male pattern baldness recession of hairline and crown and Telogen Effluvium. I wouldn't even be considering Telogen Effluvium except that my life took a devastating blow on Sept.2 2004, roughly 3 months before I noticed shedding for the first time and then I was diagnosed with Telogen Effluvium by a Derm. I wouldn't be considering male pattern baldness except that my recession in front is so severe. So it's likely that I have both and that the Telogen Effluvium has affected the male pattern baldness areas more than other areas on my head.
