The problem is some are far too sensitive and then merely become enablers. In fact, I won't even as much condone or justify the notion of such a practice. I don't even think he realizes the finality of such an action. This is a cold cruel world, especially for a male without any balls. It's a lot more the equivalent of a barbaric lobotomy than a simple vasectomy. And I have no problem in saying it.

Having balls is keeping me distracted from helping people. Try helping people when all you can think about is sex all day. Its not easy. You have to take care of the problem before you can go out and help people.

It doesn't work. I've tried. Its not all in your head. Its about chemicals in your physical body. Thats why transgendered people get castrated. Can they simply meditate and wish they were a woman? No. They have to get the surgery done to get rid of the testosterone production.

Its also why some sex offenders get castrated. It cuts down and possibly eliminates the urge in a lot of people. If it works for sex offenders, why can't it work for me?

Also, the weak minded comment sounds familiar. I have heard this used on gays by evangelicals.

A gay person says, "I can't stop thinking about men. I really try, but I can't stop."

What does the typical evangelical respond with? "Stop being such a weak minded wimp! Don't give in to sin!".

Or a catholic might say it is "weak minded" to not be able to abstain from masturbation.

These type of simplistic answers just don't work in reality.

You're not even on oral finasteride. I'm on oral dutasteride and have used oral finasteride and I can tell you that it's not the same. My sex drive has never been higher.

But I encourage you to keep up with your regimen and keep losing ground.

This has nothing to do with hairloss besides possible side effects of castration I am concerned about. Will it make hair loss worse, will it cause gyno, etc. etc.?

This has to do with changing your life for the better. Its about general health which is why its in the health and fitness section. I don't want to get castrated because of hair loss, I want to get castrated because I feel its the healthy thing to do for the mind.

I was diagnosed at 8yrs as having moderate OCD. I know -EXACTLY- what it is like to feel weird as well as have others think of you as weird (especially girls). Back in grade school I had this 'thing' with certain textures of clothes and would only wear raggy looking sweat pants, stretched out shirts, and off color converse shoes... I still remember my first crush (Sarah Helms), in front of the whole class, make fun of me in which the entire class had a big laugh at my expense.

Then in HS, pretty much every year until my Senior one, I really never fit in... I was always the loner... I did manage to have a friend that was a girl with 'special privileges' but I pretty much went through all of HS without one -real- gf.

My last year in HS and afterwards (18+) my OCD just started to subside. I started to feel normal again (though I still had mild symptoms) and was beginning to make new friends as well as have girls notice me. By 19yrs I fell MADLY in love with an extremely attractive girl who felt the same for me. The passion and sex was amazing and I cannot imgaine living life without those experiences.

Now I know your OCD is still bad at 23 but two things man:

1 - OCD can subside over time.

2 - There are effective medications, behavior therapy, and counseling available to help get your OCD under control

You -CAN- turn things around man. You're talking to a guy who has been in a very similar boat (my OCD was not as bad but I also had BDD which is a whole 'nother story)... Castration in your situation is not the answer.

What would you do if your OCD did subside in your 20s or even 30s? What would you do if you met the woman of your dreams but could never 'be with her' or have kids? Dude, you would probably kill yourself (no joke). It isnt worth trying to take the 'easy' way out of your situation by cutting your balls off. Compared to castration, managing and facing your OCD, over the long term, is going to be immeasurably easier.

You never had sex so you have NO idea how f*cking amazing it is man. You think there isnt a woman out there for you? Even when my OCD in HS was bad I met a girl which turned sexual. Dude, at that time I had a mohawk and was wearing bicycle spandex because of my weirdo mind!!! You just lived a sheltered life when it comes to women, you have no idea the variety that is out there.


Look man, you want to chop your balls off that is your life and your body... You only get one though (life and set of balls that is) so you better REALLY think hard about what you're considering. No matter how bad things are now, things can always get better... But once your balls are gone they are gone.

Oh yeah, and dont think losing the 'twins' will stop you from emotionally 'feeling' the need for companionship... I know you must feel trapped right now man but your solution is only going to make it worse. You want my advice:

Look for some help (medications, behavior therapy, and counseling), get to the gym (or if you cant leave the house right now start exercising at home) to blow off some 'energy', and focus on your future career in helping others. If you still feel the same after you gave it all a FAIR shot then revisit the issue... But dude, you're 23. I dont mean to be condescending but you're just a kid. I know you think you're grown up but you arent. You're too young and have too little experience in life and with women to make this decision.

Google is your friend dude. You'll find a copious amount of information on the Internet. But you wanted and were seeking attention, while you should really be seeking it from a therapist. I'm not at all saying you're crazy, but you are most definitely troubled. Good luck.

We get one little 23 year old comes telling every one how they will "never" get a girlfriend and will not say why!!!

Can you read? This thread is not about hair. I have said this multiple times from the very beginning. Thats why its in the health and fitness section. Its about clearing your mind mentally by getting rid of testosterone.

With all due respect, I said in the very beginning that I have researched this on google. If you look back at the first post on here you will see that I said this. But I wanted to talk to people on here who have ever thought about it or who have done it. Why a hair loss forum? Because everybody talks about the effects of testosterone and estrogen. I wanted to talk to real people instead of reading the same few recycled web pages about the subject. Having an open dialogue with people who have experience with the subject is more important to me than reading statements from a medical dictionary on google. This has nothing to do with attention. Look at all the negative attention I have gotten here. Do you really think that was my intent?(unless you think I am a troll)? I honestly didn't think this subject would be that controversial but I was obviously wrong. Sure, I thought that there would be the usual suspects, just like there are on every forum, those that get offended by anything that might be different, but nothing like this.

Anyway, no hard feelings against you. I know you are only trying to help, but I am just trying to be honest here. Peace.
