"Dear Dr. Alex A Khadavi, MD, Could you please tell me if Avodart, (0.5 mg) because it is a powerful dual 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor (types 1 and 2) might still be effective once or twice a week, or once a month? Cheers. "
Dr. Alex A Khadavi, MD answered: "Although Avodart is a powerful anti-DHT, there has been no study published to elucidate the number of times a week that an individual should use it. Based on the pharmacology of the medication, I think that it should be consumed at least 3 times a week."
