PSA seems low enough to warrant that the drugs are working, but since you have no baseline to compare to, I'd leave it as doubtful still.

If I had to bet, I'd say they are working though, 0.4 ng/ml seems pretty low. But then again, you're only 22.

Your total T seems high enough to suggest they are working as well. And the fact that you're a NW4 at age 22 with little or no further progression of hair loss for over a year and a half.

You just have unrealistic expectations of what finasteride/dutasteride actually do, they rarely regrow hair back a norwood stage, let alone two.

Idk why you assumed I've been NW4 since a year and a half. If that was the case I wouldn't be complaining right now. The problem is I was a NW3 (maybe even less) before getting on any hair loss treatment and now I've become an NW4 with really bad thinning. My hair has gotten considerably worse since then which is why I first started doubting whether these meds were actually beneficial or not. dutasteride blocks 90% serum DHT and which such power it should at least slow down if not halt hair loss. Regrowing has and is a distant dream for me because I've never even got to the slowing down stage.

Coming to Testosterone I again have no idea why people are saying that it's high. It's at 24 when the upper limit for a male adult is 32. This is well within the normal range. In fact I was surprised it was that low since I hit puberty when I was 12, had a full beard by 14, thick body hair and have always maintained a high sex drive (meds or no meds).

Basically this test was a waste because no one here seems to be able to accurately interpret the results. I guess I alone or a specialist doctor can only be the judge of what is going on in my body and with my hair. Anyways these results should be helpful maybe going forward. As of now it's been 2 days since I've been taking Finpecia 1mg (Cipla) and will gradually increase the dose to Dutasteride (other than Dr. Reddy's obviously) as long as I don't have sides. If there's still no result then maybe I'm just doomed. Until then thanks for all your help. I'll update in about 3 months.

So after more than a week the Dr. Reddy's Customer Service team messaged me with a crisp, accurate and enlightening reply which completely answered all my queries. Below is the text:

Dear *******Greetings from Dr. Reddys Laboratories.
We would like to inform you that Dutasteride is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an
enlarged prostate.

We request you to consult your doctor for further appropriate usage of the drug.

Needless to say they don't give a rat's ***.

Decided not to go ahead with testing of Dr Reddy's Dutasteride although I have sent it out to the lab.
I just bought 6 months worth of GSK Avodart for just 20GBP/month with a 24GBP prescription and the total is still cheaper than running the test.

Any updates on the lab results for Dutas? How in the world do you get Avodart so cheap?

Giving up on finasteride after 6 months is a bit premature. You should've stuck with it for at least a year if not longer. It can take up to 2 years to see results.
