Do You Respect Guys Who Embrace Hair Loss More Than Those Who Fight It?

Human psychology is very complicated. Trying to drop all possibilities into a few buckets is a bit silly. If a woman started getting bad wrinkles at 19 years old would you blame her for worrying about it or call her being overly vain? You could. I think its stupid. male pattern baldness is not much different. Its a man worrying about what he looks like. Who doesnt? Every man on earth I ever met does care its just weighing this worry against the reality of what you can do. Some decide its not worth the fight vs taking drugs forever.

Am I coping?

Yes.

I agree human psychology and vanity are complicated things. I'm not suggesting otherwise. I'm only saying that I find it admirable and, with regards to human psychology, a marker of great self-confidence when a man with terrible hair embraces it and doesn't attempt to hide it. And I would like to know if there are others who are with me, either enthusiastically or begrudgingly.

Ahaha “yes” People who get their teeth fixed are just coping. You’re a buffoon. It’s clear at this point you’re coping with feelings of emasculation due to your insecurity about and attempts to treat your own baldness.

There’s nothing shameful about people trying to improve their appearance or fix flaws, and nothing about it that should make you respect them less for “coping”.

Your overblown emotional reaction to a perceived lack of respect from a stranger on the internet -- along with your 4 dislikes you just gave me -- speak volumes about your feelings of emasculation. If anyone's insecure, it's you. I've never attempted to treat my baldness and I can't imagine I ever will.

There's nothing wrong with trying to look good -- to an extent -- but there's even less wrong about accepting that your hair sucks and moving on. As an illustration: A girl putting on a push-up bra to accentuate her breasts is quite different than undergoing a dangerous and unnecessary breast enlargement surgery. Poisoning your body with 5% minoxidil, 0.1% finasteride, stabbing your scalp with needles, washing it with keto 2%, and ingesting saw palmetto because of your insecurity over your hair clearly indicates there is a problem.

One missing tooth won’t prevent you from chewing. A prosthetic hand doesn’t let you paint the Mona Lisa. Addressing cosmetic concerns is not something deserving of less respect. I have two dental implants that were purely cosmetic. Am I coping? Should I not be as respected as a man with a couple missing teeth?
i think getting surgery and otherstuff for cosmetic reasons is rubbish. i always laugh when i see chicks with them big filler lips and huge fake tit implants, let alone butt implants. they look hilarious. cosmetic surgery is very low on things i respect. just be happy the way you are.

That’s why I respect men who wear their balding with pride, acknowledging it and not trying to hide it. Much more boss move than going out of their way to cover it up.

Your perception that I’m being wildly emotional speaks to your disdain for those of us willing to treat our baldness. The way I grew up, if someone starts insulting you, telling them to f*** off (especially in the context of a hair loss treatment forum) is what any self respecting man should do.

To come to such a forum and make a blanket delcaration that anything other than “avoidance and denial” is unnecessarily dangerous and makes you deserving of less respect is foolish and would make one question why you’d even bother spending time here with us. Aren’t we just all lower beings who don’t have the hutzpa to man up and rock a ridiculous look like the ones you lauded in your OP?

It seems to me that you’ve been stricken with the same insecurity and sadness that the rest of us have been over the loss of your hair, and you’re trying to reassure yourself by asserting your superiority over the rest of us because you’re a man and just don’t care. Why are you even here?

If topical Finasteride is dangerous, unecessary and indicitive of a problem, are you going to go talk to the thousands of accomplished, professional men who’ve had hair transplants and tell them they also have a problem? Are you going to tell sufferers of alopecia areata that taking “dangerous poison” like Jak inhibitors is silly and they should just accept their condition?

Excuse me, big guy, for daring to fight a cosmetic condition I have. It is truly shocking you are unable to meet people on gourmetstylewellness.com who are so eager to embrace the Danny Devito look. Thank you for informing me of just how much respect I merit.

Oh right, finasteride increases estrogen. That makes sense.

Though nothing screams "I've lost the argument" more than responding to someone without quoting them because you're hoping they won't see your reply.

This is not the 1970s anymore, Danny devito is unacceptable. It is good that some men have the mental fortitude to embrace such a physically deforming disease, but we have to accept that fact that most men do not, and there's nothing wrong with that. No other disease exists on this planet that 1. transforms your appearance so drastically, 2. no one gives you sympathy for having 3. People actively mock you for fighting it. Remember, a disease that interferes with your ability to reproduce, even by social means, should be treated as a life threatening disease.

How many times do you want me to embarrass you here, Stephen?

Per the illustrious Oxford Dictionary: "directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining."

I'd say "f*** you," "dick" and the slew of other potty-mouthed insults you hurled my way qualify as personal attacks, rather than legitimate responses to my position.

Surrender, Stephen. Not just in this debate, but surrender to the hair loss, too. You'll finally gain my respect if you do, which you so clearly crave.

I agree that most men don't have the mental fortitude to embrace it. And that's why I admire -- and perhaps you do, too -- those men who are strong enough to embrace it. They are the alpha males of the hair loss brotherhood. As far as reproduction: I think that women are attracted to confidence more than hair. Some weird incel with hair is never going to reproduce; on the other hand, a guy who is balding but is attractive in other ways and confident in himself shouldn't have any problems.

Can't respect an ugly man sorry.

Lmao

You're a tough customer. I like that.

What you did was a fallacy. Attempting to negate someone’s argument by insulting them personally. What I did was an attack. Negating someone’s point and then insulting them. Come on, we learned this in grade school, man.

I think I’d have to hang myself if I were the type of person that people like you looked up to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't joke about that. Isn't suicidal depression one of the "sides" of those poisons you're pumping yourself full of in order to hold on to a few scraps left on your head?

Sorry, not buying your Mr. Cool Ice act now. You've been typing out these long, emotional screeds in this thread due to a perceived lack of respect from a stranger for hours now. You can't just act like you don't care now. It's not believable. You care a lot. Not just about my opinion, but other strangers like me. That's why you started with the waterworks right away -- "f*** you, dude, I'm a human being too!" Sad!

Lmao if anything I was annoyed at you for insulting the hair loss community at large in your very self-gratifying post. I’m not going to explain why I don’t care about what some nerd on the internet thinks of me, but have some respect. When in Rome, don’t sh*t on the romans.

Since you’re super interested in me (who could blame you tbh) go back and read some of my posts.

It’s also ridiculous to state that anyone using any type of anti androgen through any means of delivery is “pumping themselves full of poison”. About the only thing in this world that could make me want to kms is if I woke up in your body lmfao0o
