BTW, the term for "Hair System" in a number of languages, is called a "Hair Prosthesis". Judging a person for trying to cover up baldness for emotional reasons does make it any less important to that person, and deserves no less respect than someone who replaces a missing limb, or teeth, or eye.

It would be interesting to note how many of you that are not accepting of people who are "less than perfect", are Americans? America has an incredibly warped idea of beauty standards. Your celebrities, with very minor exception, are all "Perfect", while in other countries, it is not like that. This is causing young men and women to have altered perceptions about standards of appearance are. Hence the increase of body dysmorphia.

Of course not limited to the USA, S. Korea is dealing with this, along with Brazil. Other countries to a far lesser extent.

You’ve got an excellent point there, very insightful post. I think the problems with image obsession are also exacerbated in the younger crowd due to the prevelance of social media. People my age are bombarded day-in and day-out with images of beautiful people on platforms like Instagram and Netflix and are then (to an extent) expected to compete on some level with these people on the same platform. I think guys and girls alike feel a lot of pressure and insecurity when trying to measure up to their crushes’ Instagram following list, or their best friend’s favorite Netflix show.

There is now a new issue that is starting to crop up are the new apps and filters. You give yourself a makeover and then fixate on it. Or the people that are presenting themselves filtered, hiding their true appearance, exacerbating the effect.

It's very very sad.

On the hair front, I have personally experienced young men, with almost NO hair loss or very slight hair loss wanting advice on Hair Systems, even some going for "full cap" which means shaving off ALL of their bio hair, and wearing a total system. It's really painful to see.

I don't understand why they choose to look like Krusty the Clown. Choosing a good hairstyle is not that different from personal hygiene or choosing to wear nice clothes.

The only guy I knew who chose to look like Krusty the Clown in his 30s was of Jewish ancestry, so I figured it was a cultural / religious thing. He wasn't Orthodox or anything.

I am in the second group for sure, but don't really like growing a long beard. Stubble is fine. Imagine going bald in your early 20's... Women are much pickier today than pre 21st century, so you are literally invisible to prime women in your age bracket...

Honestly I give woman credit because I think on the whole they're less shallow today about physical looks than guys are. I know it's anecdotal evidence but all the drop dead gorgeous girls I knew from my high school are with guys who I consider to be way below their league, even a few balders/full baldies. It's interesting.

Who cares? Why is one group more deserving than another? It's a personal choice. For a while I shaved my head, then I wore my Norwood 6, then I decided to get a hair system. At no point did I decide that I garnered more or less respect for my choices.

Completely and totally your personal opinion. One man's choice does not have to be yours. And judging someone that makes a choice other than your own is quite egotistical.

That is why I think this entire thread is just pure bullshit.

But everyone deserves to be respected, unless they do something that would cause them to lose respect, like something criminal or immoral. But a hair choice? Absurd!

I suppose a complete lack of vanity is an admirable trait, especially in todays image obsessed world but look at those pictures in the OP! Ask yourself do those guys really not care about their appearance or do they actually lack self awareness? Not being vain is one thing but why would you purposefully make yourself look uglier or even clownish?
I've realised that looks are important and taking care of your appearance doesn't necessarily mean you're vain or insecure. I'm not talking about the extreme lengths of having surgery, transplants or taking pills; Ther's nothing wrong with making the best of what you have with good clothes, the right haircut ect. Looks are the most important factor when it comes to success with the opposite sex and that goes for both men and women. Not only that but you'll notice that in life generally good looking people get treated better; it's a proven fact that attractive people do better in job interviews and get favouritism in the workplace. People instinctively think an attractive person is more trustworthy, intelligent and has better social skills and if you just look around it's obvious how different they get treated to your "average joe" - how they hold peoples attention, how people are opening doors for them, how everyone smiles at them.

If we can't do much about our hair..we have to work on everything else. Face.. Keep your eyebrows in check. Don't go having them waxed or some sh*t. Just pluck the middle and some hairs below the brow and over it. Skin care is so key. I really don't have any money, but i'm thinking abut going to a dermatologist to see if i can make my skin look a little better.I think you can do some light peel, which will diminish acne scars over the years. Teeth brush them twice a day fellas! lol... Working out..well, you know that saying "she's a buttaface"...Everything looks good but her face. If you don't have the best face, work the rest of the body to compensate. Educate yourself on nutrition and resistance training.. Track your food intake in to say myfitnesspal. When is to comes to your weights, learn how to correctly do the exercises, vary the weights/reps/rest time etc. And finally clothes...well i really dont know how to dress, but i'm learning..lol...I guess thats it

With the images provided of those two men, I wouldn't even go near a window in my own home if I had hair like that. It just screams 'pedophile'... It's just confusing when people say it's a 'natural process', obviously it is but cancer is also a natural process; should we just accept cancer and move on? Both of them lead to the death of something at the end of the day.

On this website I have realised that there are too many options, which help with hair loss, to go bald. But, men have such a fear of side effects such as gynecomastia and loss of libido even though their sexual desire is most likely just shot into a tissue and they don't show their body as much as they show their hair.
