A lot of the people on there are really pessimistic and rude. It's a horrible forum for advice. I have seen hair loss newbies go on there and get bombarded by delusional messages like "time is of the essence", "take propecia yesterday", "no pain, no gain", "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". They try to apply these quotes onto hair loss treatments. Most of the stuff they say goes beyond broscience, although I admit they know a lot about the treatments. For example, the user pieman2005 who is in early 20s is on there posting update pictures with comb forwards and comb overs. I see users like murat and pieman2005 insult noobies (like ryukil) who think they may not be actually balding or insult people who are too scared to start finasteride. I don't like why there is so much hate on that forum. This forum is at least pleasant and has a more diverse group. Almost everyone on that forum is taking finasteride as a minimum. I have seen hunks on that site drink minoxidl and chew on sex changing anti-androgens. I'm glad I closed my account with that forum. It's like I am really walking toward the light after dropping finasteride as opposed to walking away from the light.

Yeah I post there, the regulars (like myself) I like and are the only reason I check the forum. The nutters are easy to tell and we usually try to dissuade them from doing dangerous things just to save a couple of follicles.

The site is good only if you are balding and going down the finasteride/antiandrogen path. A majority of the people ridicule and insult those scared of treatments.

Guess they were turned off by your anti finasteride campaign.

Don't be surprised if you still loose ground on finasteride. I have seen it happen all the time. Finasteride is just a first step. What if you still lose hair (you prolly will)? Would you bring out the dutasteride and spironolactone?
Guess they were turned off by your anti finasteride campaign.

True, those boards can be violent but people tend to get aggressive when they are trying to defend their own choices, and not just about hair treatment options (head-fi is a war zone). You can still express yourself freely if you learn to ignore trolls or susceptible people (like me) usually just lurk for ideas and info.

back from the dead. I used to think that forum was most active and had the best info. Seems times have changed? It's not frequented as much it seems....
