Does anyone else do this?

Kyriakin,

You seem to put waaay too much stock in physical appearance. Yes, advancing age tends to negatively affect one's looks.

I know it's unfortunate that there are unattractive people in this world. Especially those short people with bald heads. Terrible.

You're a good looking guy as I've seen from other posts. Possibly a bit pretentious and prone to navel gazing, vanity etc. I'm sure you could get more pussy than a toilet seat with a bit more confidence. to misquote Fight Club, you are not the hair on your head, etc. etc.

And what part in Fight Club would that be? I don't recall any part with that quote.

"What we have here is a failure to communicate"

Deaner means the quote written in the signiture part of Blue's post

yes kriakin, judging on your smile-less "model" photos, it's easy to calculate that you will infact be a small, wrinkled bald little loser who wears black trenchcoats by the time you're 50.

another bad-bonus part about it for you is that you will not be smiling about it either

Oh yeah, I see old bald guys and think, "man, someday that's gonna be me."

Then I see graves and I think, "sh*t, someday I'll be dead too."

Then I realize worry about it does nothing.

It's as though I have this nightmare image of the typical 'loser' bald man in my head, and somehow I feel I'm going to become him
That's why you don't become him. The solution is simple. Do what he didn't do. In fact, do what 99% of people DONT do ... take care of yourself. Do it now, while you're young. Be active. Work out. Get 10 mins of sun per day. Eat low fat foods, tons of veggies and fruits and drink a lot of water. Do cardio.

We live in an age where all the pieces to the puzzle are right in front of us. We've learned enough over time about health and aging that you can do literally everything you should, and extend your own life a good 10 years longer than your peers simply by doing what they don't do: Take care of yourself.

Just last month I learned about dental hygeine. I learned that the biggest entryway of bacterial infestation in the body is through the mouth and people with gum problems have a 50% higher chance of heart disease and other diseases because of it. I took proactive action and right now I have whiter, cleaner, bacteria free teeth than anyone in my circle of friends. And it will pay off.

Don't become that man. Use finasteride, rogaine, whatever you need to. Start now and stick to it. You will be that age one day, but you could be happier, healthier, more active, and have more years ahead of you than he does, simply by what you choose to do today.

So consider yourself lucky enough that you're intelligent enough to have noticed that old man. The question is, you are intelligent, but are you wise? Wisdom is knowledge put into action. Do what you need to do, to not be him.

i'm with you kyriakin, i experience a similar thing: when i feel like my hair loss is bad, it seems like everyone around me has a full head of hair. on those (few) days when i feel good about how my treatment is going, it seems like everyone my age (24) has begun losing their hair. weird. but it's human nature.
