Oral versus Transdermal Estradiol in Feminising Hormone Therapy for Transgender Individuals
Oral versus Transdermal Estradiol in Feminising Hormone Therapy for Transgender Individuals by Sam

No apparent differences.
I don't think that's how bica works. I thought it essentially blocked off T from binding to the AR, without suppressing serum levels. Correct me if I'm wrong.@Pls_NW-1
I already said that there are 2 options:
1) Bica in a sufficient dose to completely suppress T
I always say that it spoofs lower T while provera actually lowers T in fact while not having any sides for me, nor does 300mg of P4 daily.I don't think that's how bica works. I thought it essentially blocked off T from binding to the AR, without suppressing serum levels. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@Pls_NW-1 , are you doing this stuff topically or orally? I am not very familiar with these powerful AAs.
Only to the extent that I know it exists. There's very little demand in the MtF world. I think that there are also estrone tabs and those would be worth a try but I never see them for sale on my list of offshore sites. Ovestin might be the brand name. It says it will work fine for feminization but you have to use tons. I don't think that it works well as a hair loss med but it works great for breast growth when unopposed. And if you are like, oh, doesn't it lessen breast growth, well no, not when used at levels that mimic the start of puberty.Anyone familiar with anyone who has taken oral estriol?
Thanks. Yeah my guess is that you still need a solid AA regimen for it to work. From what I understand, the reason estradiol seems better at growing hair (and all things feminine) is that it is a much stronger AA than estriol. So people could likely get away with estradiol alone. The thing about estriol is that it doesn't seem to grow breasts, however it is apparently highly correlated with hair. Just too weak on its own.Only to the extent that I know it exists. There's very little demand in the MtF world. Bicalutamide acutally doesn't block the AR, more-over it binds to a socket, which is attached to the AR to block the expression of the AR gene and its' information.I don't think that's how bica works. No, I am not, well, not yet. I can't take that stuff just yet. My doctor won't allow me I think because of my age. I may get it prescribed when I'm 18, or I tell that I am non-binary lol.are you doing this stuff topically or orally? I am not very familiar with these powerful AAs.
You know your stuff as I could barely follow that. We just have to remember that categorical statements in the HRT world are hard to make, particularly in terms of effects and when they come on.@Almas

*Bica does not supress Testo like CPA for example. Is a non-steroidal AntiAndrogen. It is a completely selective antagonist of the AR. Instead, it increases T thus the conversion of T into E2 via aromatase enzyme, that's why Gyno it's the most common side effect of Bica. Just posting this to help. Thank you.
^ You're very quick, thanks!@Almas

Yeah except starting out very low levels of estrogen turn on breast growth cause the body seems geared to actually see all of this as a second puberty instead of racing right away to full feminization. So many things seem backwards in this realm.Thanks. Yeah my guess is that you still need a solid AA regimen for it to work. Makes a ton of sense. So it basically is has effects like finasteride/dutasteride in the way of increased aromatization so that you may not even need E with it?@Almas

Agree Janey. Believe me I am trying to read and learn stuff but it is like you are in a huge never-ending Labyrinth. Thank you.You know your stuff as I could barely follow that. Some say so, some not. In my eyes, you don't need to, the only reason to take it is: when you need to compensate the spike in T.Makes a ton of sense. So it basically is has effects like finasteride/dutasteride in the way of increased aromatization so that you may not even need E with it?
I feel that my chemistry and biology education was less than ideal for me. Learning about receptors and the magical effects of HRT is fascinating to me as is the science of attractiveness.Agree Janey. Believe me I am trying to read and learn stuff but it is like you are in a huge never-ending Labyrinth. Thank you.
Very likely, you may not need E.Makes a ton of sense. So it basically is has effects like finasteride/dutasteride in the way of increased aromatization so that you may not even need E with it?
You wouldn't be on it forever and you don't need it to maintain with duta and at least some E2.Only long-term risk with bica I would assume is: hepatotoxicity, which can be avoided by a "healthy" life-style.
