This is an interesting article albeit perhaps dated. Women tend to have five times or more, testosterone circulating than estradiol. There's a graph that shows levels at different ages. So again, the focus seems to be on DHT both in terms of hair loss on the scalp but also it indicates that estradiol seems to be extremely competitive with androgens in the typically sexually divergent body areas:
For reasons uncertain though, the article seems to downplay the bodily effects of T and E therapy and doesn't mention the possibility that some people experience vigorous responses even though it seems to say that the effects are minimal. I was out with two female friends the other night and I am far, far larger in the bust than they are. Still, most MtF's report minimal breast growth from HRT. This might be due to not using enough but something seems to impede feminization in most post-adolescent people using Estrogen and Androgen deprivation therapy.
As far as I can tell, except for using more estradiol and alpha-reductase gobblers, nothing else works for or improves feminization except possibly using topical estradiol on the areas of high T and E competition. The people at the Dr. Will Powers site all but literally try everything to improve feminization and the fact that those people are all over there tends to imply that nothing he advocates or prescribes makes any difference except for E2 and Dutasteride. Equalizing Estradiol and Estrone? Setting alarm clocks to take pills at six hour intervals? Sucking on pills instead of swallowing them? All that does is breed OCD in people who almost by definition, already suffer from serious OCD and are mentally ill from gender disorder.

The first pic of an FtM on the page right now is of an XX who appears to have the genitalia of maybe a ten year old boy. We might have a handful of super responders who are the exception to the general rule.<shrugs>. I used to have a transgender stand-up act and I took a long break and now I only have a female act qua cis-female. Nobody seems to remember the previous version after 3 years away and women and men both hit on me. My legal practice has gone through the roof since I became just Janey. But this has to be exceedingly rare for someone who started at 54 years of age.
