Been on finasteride on 2and a half months.
This is what its done too my hairline.
(The lighter shade around hairline is where ive lost hairs)
Its particularly getting worse on my left temple.
I know mbp can start on your left temple and make its way round but since starting finasteride ive just diffused reeceded and so far.
I dont see how its going to improve, it dosent feel like it at all, the regrowth ive had has just been peach fuzz from what i can tell.

where its particulalry reeceding on my left temple is where i get the urge to pull on hairs which i assume is a symptom of mbp.

2.5 months is nothing! Your young and freaking out. Hair has to go through cycles. Finasteride/dutasteride can continue to show improvements for up to 24 months

I hear what your saying but i dont think im freaking out its just what im noticing with my hair/scalp.
I agree im not going to see full regrowth within 2.5months but realistically i dont see my hairline recovering.
Finasteride is meant to maintain to your hair & delay mbp, perhaps it will with some of my hair but my hairline has been hit really hard and the density on the top of my head & i have thick hair, so it didnt do its job in maintaining that.
Also i lost hair/shed in the left temple in the first week and the hairs havent really grown back i think from what i can see

2.5 months is indeed nothing. Are you still shedding? People don't trust in finasteride but then they go off and drop a norwood level or two in 2 months and only then they realize how effective it was in maintaining their hair/slowing down the loss.
Regrowth is a pipe dream for most people btw. Only hyper responders get it and it's not like they suddenly jump from a NW2 to a NW0
Depending on how rapid your loss is finasteride will maintain for the majority of people though. That's why it's vital to jump on fast

So i shouldnt really expect regrowth? Tbh it dosent feel like im getting it.
My hairloss was not rapid at all before finasteride but from what i have been told finasteride dosent have the mechanism to make you loose hair faster/accelerate mbp.
My journey with fina so far has been strange. First 2 days i took i had a small shed and also concidentally had tonsilitus so i stopped it for 2 days. The dht went into overdrive and scalp became sensitive so hoped straight back on. My hair also became wispy all over like it all went into resting stage. My hairs have slowly been falling out. Some days alot come out others hardly any

It hasn't even started working yet! This stuff is not tylenol you just take and it starts working. It has to build up in your system. Your hair has to go through its cycles and shedding is one of them

I get that hair goes through cycles and if it sheds it should come back but the hairs ive lost on my hairline havent grown back which means it aint going through a cycle. I can just see small thin hair which is getting thinner as it grows

Could be your getting a mature hairline. Could be your not responding well to finasteride. I personally get better results and zero side effects on dutasteride

If you have genetic male pattern baldness it may or may not. We only have treatments. ( not cures) In my experience, which is pretty good! I've been taking finasteride and dutasteride for almost 20 years. I've stopped and started (not the best descion) but I've maintained. My family is all Norwood 7. I'm about a 3 to 3.5 don't expect to keep your juvenile hairline. As you age everything changes

Iunderstand it canwork well for people but a hairloss prevention drug has made my hair worse of, to the point where its detoriating.
My hair wouldnt of detoriated this fast before i took it.
I just dont understand whats going and dont see how a hairline which has reeceded can go back to pre fina

Post a picture! I'll bet your just freaking out because you see a little scalp. Not many at 25 are going to have the same density as someone 15 or 18 years old. You kinda just need to deal with it

I hear what your saying but the rapid acceleration of loss is down to finasteride. Just turned my hair to wispy and hair is slowly falling out day to day. Its crazy to think that i had a good set of hair only months ago

Read this thread. It seems to make sense and that it causes something to have a negative effect on the scalp.

I have made threads with pictures check them out also have pictures above

It will cause a shed for sure. I don't need to read it. The shed can last for six months or more. It's part of being on the medication. If need be use concealer until you gain some ground or stop shave your head and move on! You will drive yourself crazy letting it consume your life

Its consumed me cause theres no certanty its going to recover.
When your hairline gets narrower and narrower it dosent seem like a shed.
Too many people have littered this forum with stories that its not just a shed.

I'll leave you with the information I shared. It's up to you to determine weather or not it's a shed. But through almost 20 year of experience on the drugs and countless hours on these forums I'm telling you it's a shed. good luck!

I appreciate your feedback and hopefully it is but how can you discredit all the people with bad experiences on finasteride where things didnt improve even after 1 year. Many people describe the same process/symptoms iam going through and it didnt turn out well for them

2 1/2 months is too early for good results
I know its the hairline im worried about, its reeceded and hairlines dont come back forward again.
Also switching to avodart..probably take both together for a few months, is it bad to switch or shouldnt matter?
