Good for you. I have found Folligen cream helps thicken up vellous hairs rather well. Been using it for years.

IMO folligen and copper peptides in general are highly underrated on these forums.

Outside of the big 3, CP's seem to be the next most proven agent for fighting hairloss. I'm surprised the Big 3 isn't expanded to the Big 4... just as Nizoral is the requisite shampoo to control inflammation, CP's and their healing effect on follicles is almost as important in my book. I had mixed (though mostly positive results) with finasteride until I threw in Tricomin, which was a godsend and something I wish I had added MUCH sooner.

For awhile I got the big 4 mantra chanted on this forum but I quit beating the drum so much.

Tricomin is an excellent product but a change will be nice. I have always felt folligen was a better product in terms of effectiveness but man tricomin is so clean and quick to dry.

However...I have never used folligen with any non 4 hours to dry minoxidil so maybe that will change my thoughts on the folligen mess.

I started using CP's mixed with my minoxidil about a week ago, so far, so good.

Don't hold your breath, bud. It's still pretty messy. Good news is you don't need a lot and you don't have to use it often.

Hey guys,

I've been thinking about adding some CP product to my regimen for quite some time now.
But I can't really decide which one to get.
This "Super CP Serum" discussed in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=61&p=476525 caught my attention.

Obviously pros: I could mix it well with my minoxidil and it's pretty cheap.

But what about cons compared to Folligen/Tricomin. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Tim

I use the cp serum, but only 2/3 drops with 2ml of minoxidil.

I thought about just adding a couple of drops to my 3 ml of minoxidil. So that would make the strongness of it acceptable, I guess?

But I wonder about the other differences of it. Since Tricomin and Folligen are especially designed for the hair?

Ah, Petchsky do you use the CP Serum or the "Super" one? And why? And also, why didn't you choose Tricomin/Folligen?

Thanks!

I have to agree with Cassin. Folligen is designed for hair, the other is not. Super CP Serum is WAY strong and designed for scars and wrinkles and such.

Dr Pickart who makes folligen/super cp would strongly suggest you don't do that I would think. He even recommends watering down his folligen spray with distilled water if you have problems.

This website offers a good comparison of the two products
http://www.ageless-beauty.com/folligen-two.html

she makes a good argument for folligen in that "Note that Folligen’s Copper Peptide appears very high on the ingredient list. By volume it is the third largest component. Tricomin’s Copper Peptide is way at the bottom – just before the preservatives, menthol and dyes."

However she goes on to say that one of folligens main ingrediants: "cupric sulphate, all I found was that in pure 100% form, it should not be inhaled or ingested in large amounts and that it is harmful to aquatic life."
Idk...if this should not be inhaled or ingested, how safe is it to apply to your scalp for years on end

I don't get the point of using a stronger product only to use such a minor amount? I'd rather get good coverage and be sure that I am using the right product.

I got one of those big bottles of folligen back in June - still not even 1/2 way through it (doing 6 - 10 spritzes maybe 4x weekly). Prior to that I went through 2 back to back bottles of Tric. Before that folligen, before then tric, before then folligen, wayyy before that I used that CP gel whose name I can't remember. (I hate that)

My hair is going through phases of looking pretty good - and then not. I'm not convininced that CPs are helping me at all - but just to play it safe I'll continue on w/ them.

Cass is right about the pros and cons of the 2. Maybe alternate?

Oh! Iamin! :) (and that's going way back)
