As much as I would like to start believing in being able to access this in 2018, I think it'll be next to impossible. Clinics in Japan would be highly booked already.

I remember they said they thought it would be possible to restore a full head of hair on someone who is slick bald.
Have they admited they failed in accomplishing this? Or can we still have 0,01% of hope?

(I'm not saying 20% regrowth isn't amazing already)

There's proof they failed? Where?

The trial they speak of was a safety and early efficacy trial. We don't have enough data to know whether or not the final treatment can restore a slick bald person, but it's not of the question.

I disagree. This isn't like Tsuji where you need to culture 2 different kinds of cells, put them in 3d, then have an hair transplant surgeon install them in an hours long process, extensive training etc.

A single clinic could probably treat many people every day. This would be a much more in and out process than Tsuji. 1 trip for the biopsy and the next is sitting in a chair getting scalp stabbed by the Blade Runner tattoo machine

I hope we get some good new treatments to maintain our hair until Replicel release their new treatment. Time is the only problem

Shiseido/Replicel

So, in essence, my assumptions are true for Tsuji? Even if we take the best case scenario of it getting released in 2020, it won't be accessible to common baldies like us until several years after?

Yeah, I very much doubt Tsuji will be affordable or widely available for many years.

If they were to start trials outside of Japan right in 2020 (which they probably won't) the absolute earliest year you'd see it elsewhere is 2023...6 years from now and still at a very high price. It will be a decade or more before most people could get it.

Pray for Shiseido, Follica, etc. Because if you're a high Norwood, I doubt Tsuji will give you your hair back until you're long passed your prime. I'm going to be 25 soon and the idea that if I go bald, I might be able to get it all back when I'm 40 isn't comforting

How much time would Replicel/Shiseido need to get their product in Europe (countries like: Spain, Germany, Portugal, etc...)?

They would need to through clinical trials for it in Europe, so years. That's if they even decide they want to go through the cost and bring it to Europe.

So the timing is similar to FDA's? 5 years? More?

It's anyone's guess, but years is probably the best answer. You generally need 3 phases, but it's not like they do one every year

So long as I maintain what I've got and this continues to show promising results, I will most definitely be getting on a plane to Japan.

This would be a cure to me and would be completely worth it. Especially good news that a release next year is still possible.

Between finasteride, minoxidil, hopefully fidias product and this; with transplants also being an option, I may be able to put this problem to rest at age 25 - 26. It's a good feeling

The hairline shape is slightly worse than most nw2s though it receded straight back somewhat, I have a lot of diffuse thinning, but only one patch toward the hairline that is obvious in the light. My temples are the biggest problem.

It makes my forehead look a little too large and terribly narrow in profile.

I would say it is aggressive as in 2015 and even into the beginning of 2016, you could only see the beginning of temple losses in pictures.

Isnt replicel just using stem cells injected into the scalp?
