Thanks. And yes both interventions where being ordered and overseen by a urologist.

Going to stay in the current protocol with out change for another 2 months and access. Seems like an RU/CB would work to address elevated T. But upregulatiin scares me. I do wonder if I should have done nothing.

The IGF-1 has been at the level of an 85 year old and is concerning.

----- RU has never been approved for anything. Personally, I'm unsatisfied with the quality of research on RU sides. Being on TRT and trying to address evaluated T is a bit.... you may just want to avoid further TRT.
You shouldn't address elevated T on finasteride/dutasteride.
Instead of considering AR blockers with irreversible side effects (like CB) you may throughly exclude all non-androgen causes of you hair loss.

--- I suspect after your discontinuation of HCG & TRT is should get back to normal range later.

Update in quarantine. Have been only on 1% topical Finasteride daily, 7mg oral minoxidil daily.

No HCG or TRT for five months now.

Sides seem about the same, tolerable but just myself. Still shedding 200+ daily hair is still long but follicles are thin and brittle. Falling hairs are all lengths and most have tapered roots.

Still a lot of hair but hairline still receding fast with loss of density.

Dude your hairline does NOT recede fast. It's receding "fast" for 2 years now. If that is fast I don't know what is supposed to be slow for you.

Is t anything ‘fast’ if treatments are supposed to ideally halt, slow, reverse recession? Please keep in mind I started with a perfect and abnormally dense baseline.

Yeah thanks for proving my point. Seriously consider therapy. You have the most severe case of BDD I have ever seen alongside this 15 year old Alexander kid.

And yeah you are on this thread for almost 3,5 years which makes it even more ridiculous.

Then why did you start in the first place if you had an abnormally dense baseline lmao, dude do you even "hear yourself"?

I started meds because of crown thinning at 40. In the 3 years my density disappeared and I lost an inch of hairline despite aggressive treatments.

I acknowledge I have solid hair for my age but it’s thinning and receding. If a treatment worked you’d never see or hear from me again. I have shed over 200 hairs each day since this turned in like a switch. BDD yeah sure in someways true via my reaction to the shedding.

I’m here like everyone else, Finasteride isn’t working and I’m trying to slow/stop the inevitable.

worried most about the forelock and vertex. At my age I’ll accept some thin temples but the diffuse center is horrible.

I think you need to realize finasteride does block DHT but in your case you don't respond well to the medication like me. Sometimes people in their 40's don't respond to finasteride as well as those in their early twenties. If you are losing some body hair, then finasteride is working. I lost alot of body hair on finasteride over the years. But it does not necessary translate into being a good responder. You are not responding well to anything you are using according to you. For, me I responded to minoxidil, Proxiphen, and the Hair Density serum but more maintaining than anything. However, like you I thinned out alot later in life too. It's not as easy to slow down hair loss when you reach 40 even if it's not aggressive. Over the last 3 years, you barely lost any density so consider that a success. Look at the guy who had rock star hair at 18 and now at 21 is losing his hair dramatically. That is not happening to you. And I am proud of you for finally admitting you do have BDD(ie obsession with hair).

Can you post a photo of a tapering hair strand? (like the one I attached in this post)

some shots in the sun. long dark hair does well to hide some real thinning. more than anything I want to know if I should stop the Finasteride. No change in body hair, no increase in body hair even at 7mg oral minoxidil. Since dropping the low dose HCG I’ve gained weight and just don’t feel good. I want to not give a damn and know I still have a good even if expensive hair transplant. Because of the diffuse and the abnormal shedding I don’t think this will be possible. I know I’m still doing well just looking for a balance.

I think it's just your time....your hair does look thinner at the roots, but it's not really much you can do at this point since you've tried everything. Just move on with your life.

Have you ever thought that maybe that cocktail of meds that you have tried and are taking maybe had an opposite effect accompanied with the stress and the style of life that you have? Have you at least tried to leave them all for a while and see how it goes? Maybe get proper sleep, meals and minimize the stress levels?

I get that my anxiety and venting go overboard sometimes and that I’m lucky.

But 40 isn’t death. Many people even with male pattern baldness can manage to keep good hair with treatments. I’ve been willing and dedicated to finding something that works.

after 3 years I still get some people telling me it’s not male pattern baldness even though there is clear miniaturization. Finasteride and a heavy dose of oral minoxidil have done nothing. And it see like here is something new happening daily. Like a rash and giant ingrown hairs on my nape.

why would I give up after all of this effort? I’ve spent a ton of time and money already. I was ready to give topical Dutasteride a try but I’ve only read about it killing people’s hairlines. RU? CB? Hell I even have $$$ HGH ready to try...I just want to be able to go for a run or take a shower with the nightmare of 300 hairs.

Hey any thoughts on the nape and donor area? I know the nape is male pattern baldness sensitive and can thin. Looking at photos when my hair was short it was normal straight line.

im just trying to gauge the thinning in donor area compare to Norwood area and sides. It all seems like nearly the same degree of thinning. Could there be a universal Telogen Effluvium that’s making slow male pattern baldness much worse?

Any thoughts?

if it wasn’t for the long hair I think I would be a diffuse NW3. My density is destroyed. She’d never stops. Never realized how fucked my temples are and how fast. Zero temple recession in the afall last year.
