For a long time now I think that male pattern baldness is caused by a shift in melanocytes from producing keratin to producing melanin, due to environmental factors related to sun exposure and elevated temperature. That would explain white people being more bald in general than darker-skinned people. Finasteride also mess with melanocytes, and there are some scientific studies stating that. Look at this one: Finasteride inhibits melanogenesis.
So that leads to thinking: have you ever seen a balding albino man? Since they don't produce melanin, that would be an interesting think to look up for. Doing a quick google search, I haven't found any balding albino. Just some albinos that shaved their head, but that doesn't say they have male pattern baldness.
I wait for your comments.
