This is very revealing

A bit of a red flag for me is that they are basing their profits on having the treatment twice, so that is $1000 for the pyhsician and four visits.

Why would you need the treatment twice in one year? Makes me think that results one treatment is not enough for a satisfactory outcome. hmm.

Many of the top researchers have stated multiple times that multiple injection points are needed because follicles will only respond to treatment at certain points in the growth cycle. Follicle growth cycles vary across your scalp.

This is a great find, bound to drum up a little more optimism around here. However, I wonder why we haven't stumbled upon this before and why it hasn't been properly publicized, especially since Histogen is currently looking for additional funding.

Info from "www.zacksinvest.com":

Funding Goal: $18,000,000.00

Progress

50.56%
Amount Raised: $9,100,000.00
Offering Status: Open
No. of Investors: 5

Histogen sure could use some more attention in drumming up investors.

This is fantastic. Assuming they charge the same price to doctors in Mexico I would say we are looking at less than $1,000 per treatment. This should be a 30 minute procedure. Has anyone found anything on that? Even if it takes an hour it's not going to be more than 500 dollars markup for this simple procedure.

This is new to me. Under the competition section they say that Allergan has discontinued trials for Bimatoprost.

Where does it say that?

Has anyone been in contact with Gail Naughten regarding an update on if they are on track for release to the general public in Mexico as planned?

I asked @Tomtom21 if he'd reach out to them since he has an existing relationship with them but I haven't seen him respond.

I'll reach out to them eventually if no one else does. I just don't want to bother them too soon if they didn't start yet. I think a lot of these companies are apprehensive about talking with us because the second something doesn't happen that's out of their control the majority of commenters jump down their throat and start with conspiracy theories.

I'll give it a little while longer and then reach out to them.

I'm sorry my eye couldn't catch where it specified "$2,000".
Not sure if you saw my post but in hellouser's interview with Dr. Naughton at the '15 Hair Conference she stated the treatment would cost around $2k - the target is to be substantially cheaper than hair transplant's.

It wasn't discussed if this was the approximate cost for one injection sitting or multiple rounds.

In 2008-2009 the company conducted its initial clinical study in Central America. Twenty six subjects with male pattern baldness were treated and results showed a strong safety and efficacy profile. This trial was the first time in a human study that a single application of a treatment therapy produced an increase in the thickness of existing hairs and the number of hairs in pre-existing follicles. 12 weeks post injection, 84.6% of subjects treated with a single dose of HSC showed an increase in total hair, with statistically significant increases in the number of terminal hairs, cumulative hair thickness density and hair thickness mean. From this single dosing application at the baseline time point, hair growth continued to increase with a statistically significant improvement in hair count and density seen across subjects at one year. This data supported the proposed mechanism of action of HSC where growth factors associated with hair stimulation “awakened” dormant hair follicles to result in new and prolonged hair growth. This data supports a potential advantage of HSC over currently available products, which require once or twice daily dosing, and where there is a rapid reversal of any new hair growth after discontinued use. The study showed NO serious adverse effects.

Why do you have to apply minoxidil twice a day? If one treatment was enough it would be called a cure.

You know, before I started losing hair in the last year or so, I never have desired being stabbed in the skull with needles so badly.

Some of us are already doing that.

Funny how bad and incompetent they try to make every competitor seem.
I can't agree with that.

They state what each treatment is in a pretty neutral manner.

Also in other pages of the document they go into a whole laundry list of negative reasons to invest in Histogen - some of those reasons being stiff competition.

Edit - Investment Risk Factors start on page 40. Pretty honest and straight forward if you ask me.

Have they even hinted at where in Mexico this would open?

Pray for Los Algodones. They already get tons of medical tourism.

Color me ignorant but is that a safe area? Lol

No idea, I've been trying to find out the name of their Mexican partner as well but no info on that, that I can find. Need @Xaser94 to work more of his magic.

It's literally a border town just seven miles south of Yuma, Arizona. It's the dental capital of Mexico and depends mostly on foreigners. My grandpa and uncle have got lots of excellent dental work done there for around 75% less than what it would cost in the US or Canada.

Good to know. It's always comforting hearing stuff like that especially for me - I'm not much of a traveler.
