I've been monitoring my hair thinning for a few years now. Sometimes it feels like its happening so fast, but I'm not sure it really is. Would like to hear your opinions on my timeline and your personal stories about how quickly you lost your hair after 35.
My timeline in a nutshell:
4 years ago- perfect NW1 full head of very thick hair.
3 years ago- started to see some thinning at the crown but it was only visible when my hair was wet. Hairline still intact.
1 year ago- crown becoming more visible and my once very thick hair had lost a lot of fullness and volume on top. I had to start cutting my hair a little shorter on the sides to make up for the loss of volume all through the top of my head. Still my front hairline hasn't moved!
Now- my crown is really starting to show through even with dry hair, and my hair is noticeably thinner on top (though I started out with extremely thick hair so it still has good coverage).
So I would say over the course of 4 years my hair has changed drastically. Does this seem really fast to anyone else? Or is this a normal timeline for someone my age?
For the record, I'm 40 and was a bit in shock when i realized I was thinning out on top. I thought I would keep my thick hair forever! How naive of me.
