Find a compounding pharmacy in your area and then get a doctor to write you a prescription for topical finasteride.

Thanks, I will look into it

You're looking at multiple hair grafts, a ton of money and problems even with finasteride spanning years, decades.

Try the topical finasteride and hope for a miracle. It's your best cheap bet in restoring what you have and possibly getting some back with a lower side profile as House recommended.

Micro scalp pigmentation is relatively cheap and will give you a permanent hairline shaved look. I've seen them in person and if you find someone good it's a a decent solution if you want a good hairline and don't want to rock the shiny bald dome look that you will likely have in a few years. You can't tell it's a hair tattoo if you hit up a top practitioner.
Thanks

Sounds like the general consensus is that my hairline is pretty much done for even with a transplant unless I use finasteride...

This isn't true, if you rebuild your hairline with transplanted hair then it will be permanent and not require finasteride.

The dude will be nw6 or 7 in a few years, how would he have enough grafts to give him full coverage? Unless he is willing to pay like 100k for body hair transplant

Literally just dermastamp the entire top of your head with 1.5mm once a week and apply castor/grapeseed oil at night.
80% chance of having more hair if you stick to it for long enough

And I probably would go for FUE if you have that aggressive hair loss, if you wanted a transplant to get the highest yield I’d do an FUT

I would have to rebuild my entire hairline to make sure I covered all areas that would eventually fall out from DHT if I didn't use finasteride. It might be achievable, but the question is how many grafts that would take and how expensive would that be from a good surgeon.

I'm starting the 1.5mm dermaroller once a week, I also already have some oils like rosemary, peppermint, and castor. Are you saying apply the oils every night, or only after the dermarolling session? If every night, how do you sleep after the application? I don't really want to wear showercaps every night just to go to bed

Just do smp at this point

It's not out of the question for me. Still, I'd rather actually treat the actual problem then do some type of cosmetic cover-up

I'm not 100% against FUT but FUE seems like the better option for scarring

I just.... sleep. Why the heck would you wear showercaps at night because of it? I dont get it

Because you have oil all over your head. How much do you use?
You would have oil on the top of your head. Yes some of it would get on the pillow. Put a towel on top of it if it bothers you that much.

I dont put pure oil on my hair. Its a solution because they are very heavy oils so they need help to penetrate the skin.
Heres my solution:
10ml rosemary oil
10ml grapeseed oil
10ml castor oil
5ml pumpkin seed oil
5ml menthol (essentially peppermint)
5ml DMSO (very important).
55ml pure alcohol.

I apply 5ml of that to the top of my head 30 minutes before i go to sleep.

What effects do you feel that gives you? What else do you do/take out of curiosity?

@djhype have you had smp? It's not as simple as having it done once and that's you. It will need redone every few years and up close it will be fairly obvious. I would only get smp if there was long hair on top, to give the appearance of added density.

Noticed a fella on another forum posting for help today after his SMP has turned green/blue two years.

No never had smp but that has to be the worse job I have ever seen.

Any cosmetic procedure can be botched by some hack. The ink they use is superficial as well and if you go to some hack it can be lasered in one session.

It depends on who does it and the ink they use. Mike Garcia in Abilene is one of the best in the business. $550 a session (3 sessions)

Lasts 5-7 years if you wear sunscreen before needing a touchup

I see. I used a solution before but it was like 6 tablespoons in total applied to your whole head once a week. 5ml makes more sense. I'll have to look into DMSO but I'll probably stick with the oils I already have - castor, rosemary, and peppermint. Like the other guy asked, how well has that solution worked so far for you?

Ya, that's a no-go for me. Besides, something seems odd about tattooing your head to have the appearance of hair.

If you click the last link and watch his videos he talks about going for a touch up after 14 months because it has faded...and that's going to 'the best in the business'.

Dude lives in Abilene and has to has his smp looking perfect and sharp at all times because he's the one selling it. Sun is what fades it without block.

On the average person a little fading actually looks better and more natural. Touchups are also much cheaper than the original procedure. They do them for about $300 in some cases.

The fact is that they fade massively!

Deluded if you think you can get SMP and it won't need touched for 5 years. Speak to people who have had it done and stop spouting nonsense. There are plenty of people on here who have had it.
