Finasteride increases risk of high grade prostate cancer, but decreases the risk of low grade prostate cancer significantly. In terms of changing risk of cancer these two facts may cancel out, or the benefit of reduced risk of low grade prostate cancer may hold more weight than the cost of the increased risk of high grade prostate cancer. I haven't bothered to look too much into it to find out though. If you are not in the age range where you would typically get prostate cancer I wouldn't even worry.
finasteride may increase overall health though as androgens are the reason why men don't tend to live as long as women. By lowering androgen levels finasteride may increase your life span if you take it over the long term by a small amount (a few years at most)
And as for sexual sides, doesn't really matter what I read because I am obviously not getting them now, and if I ever do then will be the time to stop. I didn't read the article either
