The only thing that got me thinking was the info about the increased(if I understood correctly) cancer risk. All the ED and other stuff, I didn't bother reading it.

Finasteride increases risk of high grade prostate cancer, but decreases the risk of low grade prostate cancer significantly. In terms of changing risk of cancer these two facts may cancel out, or the benefit of reduced risk of low grade prostate cancer may hold more weight than the cost of the increased risk of high grade prostate cancer. I haven't bothered to look too much into it to find out though. If you are not in the age range where you would typically get prostate cancer I wouldn't even worry.

finasteride may increase overall health though as androgens are the reason why men don't tend to live as long as women. By lowering androgen levels finasteride may increase your life span if you take it over the long term by a small amount (a few years at most)

And as for sexual sides, doesn't really matter what I read because I am obviously not getting them now, and if I ever do then will be the time to stop. I didn't read the article either

No, I just think the ED stuff is way over blown.

Yeah it is. I don't really give a sh1t nowadays anyway. Waste of time to aware people on sides, not like everyone is guarancheezed to get them.

The important thing to draw from that study is the fact that there were no significant differences in survival rates between the two groups. Scientists who have read the studies have implied that finasteride users had a higher incidence of high grade prostate cancer because it was more easily detectable(since finasteride users' prostates were smaller). If finasteride users were all of a sudden seeing high rates of high grade prostate cancer, the survival rates between the groups would be much difference. Keep in mind, this was a long term study 10-20+ years.
